Files:

TMAILPGP.EXE ------- The program
INSTALL.EXE -------- Install file
LEESMIJ.DOC -------- Dutch documentation
README.DOC --------- What you are reading now
WHATS.NEW ---------- What's changed

Possible present:

FILE_ID.DIZ ------- Description
TMAILPGP.CFG ------ Configuration file for TmailPGP

Installation:

Copy the files to the directory of your mail-program (c:\terminat\tmail).
Run the install program,
--------------------
Name: Your Name,

Registration number: You will get one of these FREE if you netmail the authors
If this is your 1st time, then leave it blank.

Directory Of Mail Program: C:\Terminat\termail (Or Whatever)

Directory Of Netmail: C:\Terminat\tmail\netmail (Or Whatever)

Directory Of PGP: C:\pgp (Or Whatever)

Directory of Youwrote: c:\terminat\tmail\youwrote (Or Whatever)
This should be a *.msg area but it seems to work fine without one...

Speller Program: You can use a Spell Checker direct with TmailPGP, though
probaly best to do this with the AFTERMSG.BAT

Message Name: Tm.msg or whatever

Name Of Personel Key File: Extract your Public Key file, in Ascii format
using PGP (See PGP Docs), copy to Tmail directory
and put the patch and name of this file in this
field.

--------------------------------

EXAMPLE FILE:
The file TmailPGP.CFG looks like this;

------------------------ Example TmailPGP.CFG ------------------------------
Karel Appel
00100
d:\Terminat\tmail
d:\Terminat\tmail\netmail
d:\Terminat\pgp
d:\Terminat\tmail\youwrote

tmail.msg
karel.asc
< This Message is checked by the one and only !! >
------------------------ Example TmailPGP.CFG ------------------------------

Example for running TmailPGP with Terminate 1.51 !!!!

Adjust your tmail.cfg:

- Add to the 'AfterEdit' line in 'Tmail.cfg' PGP.BAT
ie --- AfterEdit PGP.bat

- Add to the 'Viewer' line in Tmail.cfg, TmailPGP.exe
ie --- Viewer TmailPGP.exe

Example how to make the aftermsg.bat.
This will ask you if you want to run TmailPGP, after you make a message.
NB: Make sure your tagline program and TMNICE are run BEFORE this program,
if you use them

------------------------ Example PGP.Bat --------------------------------

@ Echo Off
c:\
CD\Terminate\Tmail
CLS
@Echo on
@ECHO Do you want to Load "TmailPGP" (Y/N)
CHOICE /C:YN /T:N,10 /N
IF ERRORLEVEL 2 GOTO END
IF ERRORLEVEL 1 GOTO LOAD_PGM
GOTO END
:LOAD_PGM
TmailPGP
:END

------------------------ Example PGP.Bat --------------------------------

Also create a batch-file to call Tmail, and rename the control file
created by TmailPGP. ( this file is located in the youwrote directory )

------------------------ Example Tmail.Bat -----------------------------------

@ Echo off
c:\
cd\terminate\tmail\youwrote
ren lastread.tmp lastread.pgp
cd\terminate\Tmail
TmailPGP
Tm

------------------------ Example Tmail.Bat -----------------------------------

Change the configuration of your terminate pointsystem, so that you call
the new created batch-file instead of TM.EXE. ( don't forget to swap
memory with !M )

Now TmailPGP is ready for use !

How to scramble text:
The part that must be scrambled must begin and also end with %%%.
This must be in a empty line, see example 1?

------------------------- Example message1 -----------------------------------
Hello Jan,

I'm fine, how are you doing ?

%%%
This text will be scrambled by PGP !
It can only be read by the receiver.
%%%

See ya, Karel
------------------------- Example message1 -----------------------------------

When you are finished with that, a window with all the names of people in
your pubringring will appear. You can select one of the names by using the
arrow-keys, followed by a .

If you want your personal-key to be added in the message, you have to
put ~~~ on an empty line. See example 2.

------------------------- Example message2 -----------------------------------
Hello Jan,

I'm fine, how are you doing ?

%%%
This text will be scrambled by PGP !
It can only be read by the receiver.
%%%
Below here comes your personal-key.
~~~
See ya, Karel
------------------------- Example message2 -----------------------------------
If you want to use a spell-checker, put !!! on an empty line.
I use DOSPELL III, it cooperates well with TmailPGP. But also you must
add the language.
NL ------- Dutch
US ------- English
DU ------- German
See example 3
------------------------- Example message3 -----------------------------------
Hello Jan,
I'm fine, how are you doing ?
%%%
This text will be scrambled by PGP !
It can only be read by the receiver.
%%%
Below here comes your personal-key.
~~~

!!!
nl

See ya, Karel
------------------------- Example message3 -----------------------------------

If there is no confidential information and you want to sign your
message so that the reciever can check if you are a reliable user,
you must put on an empty line @@@ so that PGP can sign the message
for you !

Don't forget to put in the PGP config.txt the line CLEARSIG = ON !!!!!

See example 4.

------------------------- Example message4 ---------------------------------
Hello Jan,

I'm fine, how are you doing ?

Here is the truth about this program !

Do you know that TmailPGP is a great program !!!
@@@

See ya, Karel
------------------------- Example message4 ---------------------------------

All the codes MUST be on an empty line !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If someone scrambles a message for you, you can decrypt it easely.

Example for Tmail:

If message 25 is scrambled

Press the V followed by 25 (25 must be the only thing on that line), followed
by a . And the message will be decrypted.

When you are standing in message 25 while you decrypt message 25, you
have to re-read the message to view the changes.

You can only decrypt netmail-message.
But we don't assume that's a problem. Because of the rules of mailing you
can't send scrambled messages in public echo's.
You can always copy other messages you want to decode to your Netmail area.

If you have problems, try using the following CONFIG.TXT for PGP.
______________CONFIG.TXT___________________

MyName = "Your name"
Language = en
CharSet = cp850
Armorlines = 9999
Armor = on # Use -a flag for ASCII armor whenever applicable
TextMode = on # Attempt to use -t option where applicable
clearsig = on
KeepBinary = off # Decrypt will not delete intermediate .pgp file
# verbose = on # verbose diagnostic messages
# compress = off # off means suppress compression to aid debugging
showpass = on # Echo password when user types it
# pkcs_compat = 0 # Use backwards-compatible formats
Completes_Needed = 1
Marginals_Needed = 2
Cert_Depth = 4
