Preface

Locating files within hidden directories is a frustrating task.
The DIR and ATTRIB commands sometimes give conflicting
information. Commercial utilities can do the job, but take too
long to load. What's needed is a utility with the speed of the
command line and the savvy of commercial utilities. Thus was
created DiRectory ATtributes, better known as DRAT.

DRAT is the first utility I've ever offered to the public. I
welcome any tutoring, comments, suggestions, tips, etc.
concerning DRAT's functionality. Keep in mind, however, that I
chose not to duplicate functionality -- so many of your favorite
DIR switches aren't available.

With that, I'll close by thanking you for your interest in DRAT.

Using DRAT

Once installed in your path, DRAT is as simple to use as the DIR
command. The syntax for DRAT is

DRAT [drive:][path][filename] [/P] [/T]

The P switch is the same as DIR's, it tells DRAT to display large
listings, a screenful at a time.

The T switch gives a summary of information -- total files and
total bytes.

One other switch, the question mark, displays a help screen
(displayed below).

Displays a list of files and subdirectories in a directory, with
attributes.

DRAT [drive:][path][filename] [/P] [/T]

[drive:][path][filename]
Specifies drive, directory, and/or files to list.
/P Pauses after each screenful of information.
/T Displays only total files and bytes.

The output, which is displayed under Examples, is very much like
the DIR command.
