SBBS online lottery door for fun or user d/l credits .

Full Description of File

** Lottery Door **
** for Synchronet BBS **
** version 1.50 **

Synchronet Lotto is a door
game where users can buy
tickets to potentially win
credits, just like a regular
lottery. Users can buy either
blocks of tickets or one at a
time instantly. They can also
buy tickets for the lottery
that is drawn after a SysOp
configurable amount of days.
Also includes optional SysOp
created LOTTO.MSG to display
lottery winning info. It can
be used as a regular external
program or also as a LOGOFF
event.

Version 1.50 contains many new
features and some bug fixes.

*** What is Synchronet Lottery? ***

I have always liked lottery doors where users can win credits by picking
lottery numbers. I have always seen them for other BBS software, but never for
Synchronet, therefore, Synchronet Lottery was born. What it basically does is
let users pick numbers and if they match the random ticket numbers, the user
wins credits. It can be played as a regular game and also used as a LOGOFF
event. Users can buy a block of tickets or one at a time. They can also buy
tickets for the lotto that is drawn every SysOp configurable amount of days,
and stored in the LOTTO.DAB file. There is also an optional file called
LOTTO.MSG that will display lottery winnings information (or anything else the
SysOp wants). All user info will be kept track in the LOTTO.USR file. It is
very fun to play, and best of all, registration is only $10!

*** What constitutes an intact archive? ***

The archive must contain the following files:
LOTTO.EXE - the program
LOTTO.CFG - program configuration file
LOTTO.DOC - this documentation
LOTTO.HST - history of Synchronet Lottery
REGISTER.FRM - registration form for CryptSoft Software
DISCLAIM.ER - disclaimer for CryptSoft programs
FILE_ID.DIZ - description of Synchronet Lottery
DESC.SDI - description of Synchronet Lottery
PROGRAMS.LST - list of available CryptSoft programs
CRYPTBBS.AD - ad for The Crypt BBS (optional)
README.NOW - important info for new version
--------------

BBS SysOps may add an additional "comment file" or advertisement to the
archive in the form of a file. You may change the format from the original
.ZIP and you may add a comment or advertisement to the archive as provided for
by the archiver software, as long as the above files are intact. You may not
decompile or reverse-engineer this program, nor may you distribute it in
modified form. Any such act immediately revokes the right of that user to use
Synchronet Lottery on his/her system.

*** Registration ***

Registration is only $10 (see the enclosed REGISTER.FRM). It entitles
you to unlimited use of this program and all future updates. Registration
also eliminates the 10 second delays and (UNREGISTERED) notices. You are
entitled to a thirty day trial period during which you can use this program on
your system. After that, either pay for it or remove it. Your support is
vital to the production of high quality, low cost programs.

This program is exclusive property of Kevin Thunell and CryptSoft
Software, and they reserve the right to deny registration at any time for any
reason.

*** Installation ***

Installation is simple. There is only one configuration file to edit, and
is then added to SCFG.

To install it, create a separate directory on your hard disk, preferably
under your SBBS\XTRN directory. Call it something like LOTTO. Put the program
executable and all other files in the archive in this directory, then change
to it.

Modify the sample LOTTO.CFG included in the archive.

I have many plans in the future for Synchronet Lottery. Some of the
features I may include in future release versions are the following:

* ANSI, AVATAR, text, and even RIP screens
* Change colors in text
* Invalid bets in LOTTO.CFG
* Add lotto info to 'Y'our info screen
* Add RIP detection
* Add sending to AUTO.MSG to announce when a Lotto has been drawn (list winners)
* Add log file
* Plus more!!!
