MIDI Edit Version 1.10
For Microsoft Windows 3.0
(C) Dan McKee, 1991

I have packaged three sample MIDI songs with MIDI Edit. These have come
from three different sources. All of these songs are set up for use with
an MT-32 or one of its brethren.

GREENSL.MID
This is an excellent arrangement of the traditional song
Greensleeves. I picked this up off a bulletin board, and have
re-voiced it for an MT-32.

MIN-G.MID
This is my sister's arrangement of Bach's Minuet in G. This came
out of a realization one day that the left hand of the song
contains a nice melody. After adding some frills, we wound up
with this.

CHINESE.MID
This is Tchaikovsky's Chinese Dance from the Nutcracker. I
sequenced this one myself, playing (then editing) each track. No
changes were made to the music (at least not deliberately). The
MT-32 just barely has enough voices to play this.

If you don't have an MT-32, I would suggest re-voicing the Minuet in G, by
setting everything to your best piano voice. This should sound ok. Re-voicing
of the other songs I will leave to you. Each of the tracks in the songs are
named to show you what kind of instrument you should be looking for.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
