Description of the MAIN screen of the Hypertext Drug Manual

The MAIN screen of the Manual appears when you load the program or press
the ESC (escape) key. The purpose of this screen is to:

³ - Show your location in the hypertext network ³
³ - Show the choices of subtopics that you can select ³
³ - Show the system commands that you can select ³
³ - Show the status of the system ³
ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ

Before describing each of these items, the various areas of the display
are:
Smaller left box Displays the current topic. The highlighted number in
================ the upper left corner is the node number in the current
network file.

Larger right box Displays the topic selection cursor as well as topics
================ listed for selection. The cursor topic is highlighted.

Listed commands The available systems commands are listed in two rows
=============== below the two boxes. The current command is
highlighted.

Other lines The top and bottom text lines on the screen display
=========== the status of file, memory, and selected settings of the
PC-Hypertext program. The second line from the bottom of
the screen displays messages, prompts, and command
descriptions.

The system commands:

What is your location in the network?
Your location is specified by one or more of the
following three items -- filename, current topic, and
current cursor position.

What are the subtopics you can select?
You can move the cursor topic (in the right box) by
pressing the Up/Down Arrow, PgUp/PgDn, Home/End keys,
by entering a desired topic number.

You can control the text displayed by pressing the F2
key which toggles between displaying the 1st text line
or all text lines of each topic.

What are the commands you can select?
The display lists eight system commands. Press the
spacebar or 1st letter to select a desired command.

The available keyboard commands are not displayed. Press
the F1 key to see the available keyboard commands at any
point in the program.
