Section One: Description and Instructions


T-FIG is designed to give you fuller, easier control over the
content, arrangement, and configuration of your Telix
communication program. It acts in a way that allows you to
compare configuration changes you make. Quite often, reasons for
things having to be a certain way are explained.

T-FIG is very easy for anyone to use. It doesn't require that
you remember commands...all actions are automatic. Everything is
explained fully on-screen. It picks any changes you make in
TELIX's configuration up immediately after you make them. You
can run T-FIG from within TELIX, make a Configyraton Menu change
in TELIX, and go back to T-FIG and immediately see the change.

The full set of files found in the shareware package are:

T-FIG.DOC, T-FIG.REG, and README.1ST: These files are descrip-
tive of the program, how to use it, and how to register.

TF.SLC: This is the main program that makes everything else
work.

TFI.SCN: This is the program's index file. It indexes screens
from both the Configuration Menu and the TIPS Menu. Any entry
preceeded by @ is from screens available through T-FIG's Configu-
ration Menu. This isn't included in the shareware version.

TFC.MNU: Called by TF.SLC, this file gives you access to screens
that will display your current configuration settings in TELIX.

TFCF.SCN, TFCG.SCN, TFCM.SCN, TFCT.SCN: These are the individual
screens of TELIX configuration information.

TFT.MNU: Called by TF.SLC, this file gives you access to the
tutorial screens describing TELIX's configurable parameters and
what they mean.

TFTA.SCN, TFTC.SCN, TFTF.SCN, TFTG.SCN, TFTK.SCN, TFTM.SCN,
TFTP.SCN, TFTS.SCN, TFTT.SCN, and TFTW.SCN: These are the indi-
vidual screens of tutorial information that's presented in the
TELIX manual. Each screen describes a section of TELIX's Config-
uration Menu.

To use T-FIG, All you have to do is this:

1. Copy the files to TELIX's script directory so it can find
them. If you are a very new beginner, that simply means
that you have the option with TELIX of deciding that there
can be a script directory separate from the one TELIX's
program files are located in.

In the beginning, just copy the T-FIG files to the directory
that you have all of TELIX's program files in. I use
C:\BBS. Original, huh?

2. Start TELIX. Press ALT-O, then F. Press C. Type the name
of the directory you want to use...don't forget to use full
path names. I would type, C:\BBS\.

3. Press Return (Enter) twice and then press "W". That will
write the name to a disk file named TELIX.CNF that TELIX
will read when it's run. It'll know where to look for T-
FIG's files.

4. Pressing ALT-K will take you to TELIX's macro file area.
Here, you can assign text to a specific key. One of TELIX's
features is that any text preceded with an @ is assumed to
be the name of a script file. When a key with that macro is
pressed, the script file is automatically called up and run.
Assigning TF.SLC to a macro key will keep it handy and
easily run.

5. I have TF.SLC assigned to key "F4". To assign TF.SLC to a
macro key:

A. While TELIX is running, press ALT-K.

B. Press Enter.

C. Press "E" for Edit.

D. Press the key you want to assign. I use F4.

E. Type "@TF.SLC".

F. Press Enter.

G. Press the Spacebar.

H. Press "S" for Save.

I. Press Enter.

J. Press "X" for Exit.


That's all there is to it. Now, anytime I want to run T-FIG from
within TELIX, I simply press F4.

I hope you enjoy using T-FIG and that it enhances your enjoyment
of TELIX. Again, be sure to put all T-FIG files in the same

directory.

respect to this software and accompanying documentation.

In no event shall Eugene A. Zeak, Jr. be liable for any damages;
including damages for loss of business profits, business
interruption, loss of business information, or other monetary
loss arising out of the use of or inability to use this program.



Section Three: Registration Information


T-FIG is not now, nor has ever been, public domain or free soft-
ware. T-FIG is distributed under the User Supported software
concept. Nonregistered users are granted a limited license to
use T-FIG for a trial period in order to determine if it suits
their needs.

Any other use of T-FIG or use past this period requires
registration. Any use of non-registered copies of T-FIG by a
business, organization, or any kind of institution is expressly
prohibited.

T-FIG must be freely distributed in an unmodified form with all
files intact, including both the program and this documentation.

T-FIG may not be included with any other product (bundled) for
any reason whatsoever without a license or written permission.

No charge or payment may be levied or accepted for T-FIG except
by Eugene A. Zeak, Jr., his agents, or assignees.

T-FIG is distributed as shareware. The advantage of this is that
you get to try it out the program to see whether or not it suits
your needs. If you find it useful and keep using it, you must
register the program. Registration has a few good things going
for it. While you won't receive any fancy leatherbound documen-
tation, you'll know that you treated another human being fairly,
you will receive the latest version of T-FIG on disk with your
name and registration number on the first screen, and...perhaps
most importantly of all...without those pesky shareware messages.

Without registrations, there won't be any future versions of T-
FIG. Like you, we have to pay our bills. Any well thought out
and written program takes a lot of time. Unless there's a reason
to spend the time on a project, it simply won't be spent.

Individual registration is $15.00 That includes shipping, hand-
ling and cost of a floppy disk (5 1/4", MS-DOS DS/DD, with the
latest version of T-FIG on it, including the index.

T-FIG may not be used in a business or commercial environment
without proper registration. Business registration of individual
copies are at the same as above. One registered copy can be used
on only one computer station. To find the number of copies you
may have to purchase, multiply the single price cost ($15.00)
times the number of computer stations T-FIG will be used on.
Then (if applicable), use the discount table on the registration
form to find the discount.
