SUBJECTS v2.1 |
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a small, fast, free program designed to list ATO *M or *S files
and show sections, subjects, senders, and ppns in tabular format. The
purpose of this is to get a quick birds-eye view of a file. The file does |
not have to be generated by AUTOSIG, as long as the format is the same. |

SUBJECTS [ []] [/NONSTOP] |

where is the filename with or without an extension. |
If no extension, .ATO is assumed. The file is a |
The file must be an incoming/saved message file |

is an optional capture file, which echoes the |
screen output |

/NONSTOP optional to avoid end of page prompts |

Examples: SUBJECTS |
SUBJECTS /NONSTOP |
SUBJECTS IBMCOMS |
SUBJECTS IBMCOMS COM.LOG |
SUBJECTS IBMCOMS.ATO COM.LOG |
SUBJECTS IBMCOMS COM.LOG /NONSTOP |

Absence of an input file name causes a prompt for one, and returns to |
the prompt when processing of the file is complete. Multiple files can |
be processed in a single run of SUBJECTS. |
|
Presence of an input file name runs the program without initial prompts |
for input, and terminates the program when processing of that one file |
is complete. |
|
Presence of an output file name creates a capture file echoing what |
appears on the screen. |
|
The /NONSTOP option suppresses the end of screen pauses. |

While reviewing the file, colors match the AUTOSIG.DFN file if it
exists, otherwise monochrome is used. Private messages are shown in
low inverse colors. Other messages to you are shown in bright inverse
colors. Showing a message as private takes precedence.

Esc terminates the review of a file, any other key pages forward.
