You must start PowerBBS (DOS) with START.BAT. You should place START.BAT
in your PATH.

You MUST load ANSI.SYS in your CONFIG.SYS for COLOR. The
internal ANSI Translator is only in the WINDOWS Version. The ANSI.SYS
/ZANSI.SYS, etc, happen to be quicker anyhow.

You must set up a FOSSIL DRIVER (such as BNU/X00).

Runs under DOS, multitaskers such as Desqview, and other such DOS
operating systems. Will NOT run under WINDOWS. Do not use with
Windows, use our WINDOWS versions for WINDOWS. PowerBBS for DOS
is completely compatible with our WINDOWS Version, including all
data files. MIX and MATCH in a network of XTs/286s/etc!!
Comes with our PBBSPROT for the INT 14 only. If you
want to use COM Ports, in a 2 port setup or whatever, you can
use DSZ. For the digiboards, etc, you will need the PBBSPROT.

Both the DOS and WINDOWS versions NOW SUPPORT FIDO, and the
FrontDoor setup!

Is fully FOSSIL INT 14 Compliant, and comes complete with a
COMMERCIAL COMM-DRV TSR. This fossil driver, will permit you
to use Multiport cards. ANY Multiport card supporting the
8250/16450/16650 UART on the PC Bus (such as DIGIBOARD,
INTEL HUB, AST cards) are supported.

User selectable receive/transmit buffers, and many more selections.

COMM-DRV TSR: A FOSSIL driver to use with PowerBBS for DOS.You can use
Offers support for up to 25 serial ports, included SHARED IRQ
Support. Multiport card support includes ANY multiport card
with the 8250/16450/16550 UART on the PC Bus (such as DIGIBOARD,
INTEL HUB, AST cards). User selectable receive/transmit buffers,
and much more. You can MIX and MATCH cards, such as 2 PC-COM4
cards, and 1 DIGIBOARD card, etc. Includes a printed documentation
on COMM-DRV's interface with PowerBBS's FOSSIL mode. This is
contained in our DOS VERSION ONLY. When using COMM-DRV and
PowerBBS for DOS, you CANNOT have windows running. You can use
desqview, and run multi-nodes!
