What is FIXSIZE?

FIXSIZE is a Wildcat 3.0x+ utility program for use in SCANFILE.BAT and
which corrects the FILE SIZE entry in your WILDCAT Files database after
an upload.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Why is it needed?

Most Wildcat systems now use ZIPLAB (c), CATSCAN (c), or similar up-
load scanning programs to remove advertising, add the BBS logo, etc.,
which results in the ACTUAL FILE SIZE being different from the orig-
inal detected size, which is placed in the WC Database. This may
not be a large difference, but it is nice to have the correct size
presented to your users when listing files, etc.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

How do I use it?

Place FIXSIZE.EXE somewhere in your PATH.

Add the following line to your SCANFILE.BAT file:

fixsize %1

This must be AFTER any other utilities such as ZIPLAB, CATSCAN, etc.,
which alter the actual size of the uploaded file! Refer to page 263
in your manual if you do not know how to utilize the SCANFILE procedure.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have tested this program as carefully as I can, and have found no
problems from using it; however, due to the many possible hardware and
software configurations of Wildcat BBSs, I make no expressed or implied
warranties that FIXSIZE will perform properly on all systems. Any
bug reports, comments, or suggestions are welcome. If you find this
program useful, I request a $5 contribution to the above address.
Any contribution of $20 or more will be considered registration to ALL
my Wildcat 3.0+ utilities! Thank you.
