PEGDOC.EXE - PEG User's Guide

DEMO01.COM - Examples And Explanations Of PEG Screens And Functions.
Run PEGDEMO.

ccmmdd.ZIP - A week's worth of television listings from CompuServe's
CEFORUM, in PEG format. This file must be decomressed
using PKUNZIP. You must have a least one of these to see
television listings. The maximum number supported at any
time is two. The "cc" refers to a city, for example, CH
(Chicago), NK (New York), LA (Los Angeles), etc. The
"mmdd" refers to the month and day which begins the
week covered (always a Saturday) - Example: LA0704.ZIP
is the file for the week beginning 7/04/92 for Los
Angeles.

Installation
------------

1) Set up a directory, such as \PEG2

2) Download PEGWAR.EXE, PEGFOL.EXE (optionally) into PEG directory.

3) Execute these files to self-extract their contents.

4) Download one or more TV listings files. PKUNZIP the file(s).

5) Get an authorization key (PEG.KEY file) via CompuServe email from
Lookahead Communications, Inc. A free 2 week key will be sent to
any CompuServe member for one or more cities. All you have to do
is send a CompuServe email to [73777,677] with your name, address
and city or file version.

6) If you have folders from previous versions of PEG, copy them to the PEG
directory with a command such as:

COPY \PEG1\FOLDERS.* \PEG2\*.*

7) Type PEG at the DOS prompt.

8) Select option 4 - Reorganize Database

9) If not in Eastern Time Zone, set time zone using option 5 - Set Time Zone

10) Never miss a show or movie on TV again!

11) When re-authorizing or registering PEG, you need only download a short
authorization file: PEG.KEY.


Changes From Previous Version
-----------------------------

1) All PEG programs are now invoked from a single menu. Just type PEG at
the DOS prompt to access all PEG functions.

2) A new utility ALPPRINT will print out Personal Listings with partial
or full descriptions. The number of lines of description printed is
controlled on a folder by folder basis in the folder create/update screens.

3) All folder functions have been updated to support the ALPPRINT
utility.

4) A new utility PEGZONE can shift the timezone of the system plus or
minus up to 23 hours. For example, West Coast subscribers can shift
their versions of PEG 3 hours (all listing files are in Eastern
Coast Time).

Personal Entertainment Guide Programs
-------------------------------------

All programs and files are contained in the Personal Entertainment Guide
directory (e.g. C:\PEG2). All PEG programs must be run with this
directory as default. A shell procedure invokes all other procedures.
This shell is started by typing PEG at the DOS prompt. The programs
invokes the following programs:

- Setup And View Personal Listings (requires PEGFOL.EXE)

Esc - Clear field

Ins - Display next trivia / advertisment panel

Del - Display previous trivia / advertisment panel

PEG SCREENS WITH PAGABLE LISTS

Page Up - Display previous page

Page Down - Display next page

Home - Display beginning of list or text. Home - In Rolling Log, Personal
Listings and Electronic Grid, display first page of current week.

End - Display last page of list or text. End - In Rolling Log, Personal
Listings, and Electronic Grid, display last page of current week.

+ - In Electronic Grid, display next time period.

- - In Electronic Grid, display previous time period.

The following keys are used in the Rolling Log, Personal Listings
and Electronic Grid:

Control-Page Up - Display listings for displayed time minus 24 hours.

Control-Page Dn - Display listings for displayed time plus 24 hours.

Control-Home - Display first page of first week of listings.

Control-End - Display last page of last week of listings.
