While WordPerfect is famous for being a very easy©to©use word processor,
these macros make it even easier because English commands are substituted
for function, number, and control key sequences. While every attempt has
been made to include the most useful features, not all WordPerfect functions
are callable through these macros (Math, Merge, Outline, and Sort are
currently unsupported. It is really very easy to define your own macros for
any other features you need (see page SF©60 of the WP manual and the
technical information section of this document for instructions on how to
create your own macros). We are available to write macros that control
other WordPerfect features or perform more complicated functions (e.g. form
letter systems).
A copy of this document is included on the macro diskette. To examine
it while editing, call the HELP macro. To print a copy, call the PRINTªMANUAL macro.
Some of these macros will only work under Word Perfect version 4.1 or
later. An interesting note: there is a computer bulletin board (BBS)
dedicated to WordPerfect. It is in Baltimore, Md. and can be reached at
301©889©7894. SSI also has a WP BBS at 801©227©4371.

first. FOR THIS COMMAND TO WORK, THE DOCUMENT MUST HAVE A
NAME, that is, it must have been saved at some time in the
past. If you give this command on a new document you get
the cryptic WP message "Macro complete, display state
unknown.", and WP is not exited. To name a new document
call the NEW©NAME macro.
Retrieve a saved document (if you know the name). WARNING:
The current document, if any, is cleared first and not
saved.
Display the names of all your saved documents so you can
select one to edit.ìVì
Copy the current document to disk (a good idea before
making radical changes).
Erase the current document and start a new one. WARNING:
the document is not saved to disk before clearing.
Exit WordPerfect without saving the document.
Move cursor to the page specified. WordPerfect will ask
you which page to go to. If you give it the up or down

the top or bottom of the current page.Ü^ X ܯÜ` Ü ì ìêIFÿêIF

Print the defined block (see the BLOCK COMMANDS section).
Abort the currently printing job and purge any others in
the queue. The printer will stop after it's buffer is
emptied (about 10 seconds). To cancel a job without
purging the queue, use the PRINTER command.

Switches the printer to letter©quality printing.
Change the printer vertical spacing to six or eight lines
per inch (six is the default). The spacing is changed
below the cursor position only. 8©LPI reduces space
between lines and is recommended for graphics created with
the DRAW©LINES command. Using both six and eight LPI on
the same page may cause the printer to eject the page in
the wrong place. This can be fixed with the procedure
described on Page R©68 of the WordPerfect manual. Changing
the printer deinition to redefine the page length in terms
of inches rather than lines may help.
Insert a page break.
Switch into a mode in which everything you type is sent
directly to the printer. You can select "type©thru by
line" in which the line is sent when you hit ENTER, or
"type©thru by character" in which each character is sent to
the printer as it is typed. Allows you to use your
computer as a typewriter. Good for filling out forms. In
the type©thru by character mode, if you hit CTRL©F8,
decimal numbers (as opposed to characters) may be sent by
enclosing them in angle brackets < >, e.g. to send an ESC
character type <27>. This is useful for sending printer
control sequences.

These commands cause an action to be taken on a continuous set of
characters in the document (a block). For all the block commands the block
to be acted upon must be defined. This is done by moving the cursor to the
first character in the block, doing the BEGIN©BLOCK command, then moving the
cursor to the last character in the block. The block is now defined, and one
of the other block commands may now be used (it's simpler than it sounds).

Erase the block and leave no "hole". The block is
remembered inside WordPerfect and may be inserted somewhere
else with the INSERT©BLOCK command. This is how you move
blocks of text from one place to another.
Tell WordPerfect to remember the block so that it may be
duplicated somewhere else with the INSERT©BLOCK command.
This is the same as DELETE©BLOCK except that the block is
remembered but not deleted.
Insert a previously copied or deleted block at the cursor

the ALT hey and hit B at the same time. Don't hit F10.
Make all the letters in the block upper case.
Make all the letters in the block lower case.
Replace one string of characters in the block with another.
WordPerfect will ask you if you want to confirm each
replacement. In the search target, lower©case letters
match either case, but upper©case ones match only upperªcase. CTRL©X matches any character, including space.
After you type the search target, you must hit F2 (instead

the search target.
