à ÃCursor PositionÄ Ä P
ÂOn the AT&T 6300 the cursor was changing to a one©pixel line and
jumping to the top of the character cell when the user returned from View
Document. The cursor now maintains width and position.Æ(#P
Æ

à ÃHeader/FooterÄ Ä P
ÂEditing or moving a text box within a header/footer could cause problems
within WP.Æ(#P
Æ

à ÃInvalid DisplayÄ ÄÁP
ÁThe message "Invalid Display File Format" would occur when trying to

P
Âview a document à ÃFile FormatÄ Äif WP could not locate the .DRS files. WP will
now look for the .DRS files first in the directory specified in setup for
printer files, then in the directory where WP.EXE is located and finally
in the default directory. (This error message occurred in the stand alone
version when the user's default directory was a network drive. To
prevent this error message from occurring in the Network version, install
the WP.DRS file in the same directory as the .PRS files.)Æ(#P
Æ

à ÃSpellÄ Ä P
ÂWords containing apostrophes and single quotes were considered
misspelled. Plural possessives (ladies') and words with a leading
apostrophe were the main problems.Æ(#P
Æ

à ÃSpellÄ Ä P
ÂExtended characters following a number were flagged as misspelled and
the option to skip numbers would not allow the speller to continue.Æ(#P
Æ

à ÃSpellÄ Ä P
ÂA misspelled word to the left of a graphic box would cause the problems
within the speller.Æ(#P
Æ

à ÃSpellÄ Ä P
ÂA character graphic in the middle of a word was not being considered a
word delimiter; the speller looked at the word as a whole. Speller now
accepts character graphics as word delimiters.Æ(#P
Æ

à ÃSpellÄ Ä P
ÂCache was being held when a document containing language codes was
spell©checked. This caused the user to run out of memory if he spellªchecked the document multiple times. Æ(#P
Æ

à ÃSpellÄ Ä P
ÂA Target placed in the middle of a word would cause the word to be
flagged as misspelled. It will now be ignored. If the Target is in the
middle of a misspelled word, it will be now be moved to the end of the
word as the user selects the correct spelling.Æ(#P
Æ

à ÃSpellÄ Ä P
ÂIf a path to the main dictionary was not specified in Setup, but the
dictionary was located in the same directory as WP.EXE, WP would notify
the user that the dictionary was not found. If the user then pressed the
spacebar the speller would apparently continue. Trying to do a look up
at this time would cause problems.Æ(#P
Æ
Ô h)Ԍà ÃSpellÄ Ä P
ÂAn index mark placed in the middle of a word would cause the word to be
flagged as misspelled. It will now be ignored. If the mark is in the middle
of a misspelled word, it will now be moved to the end of the word as the
user selects the correct spelling.Æ(#P
Æ

à ÃStylesÄ Ä P
ÂEditing a header/footer/text box within a style or moving a
header/footer/text box into a style would cause problems.Æ(#P
Æ

à ÃWord SearchÄ Ä P
ÂDate strings have been expanded to include more that just the U.S. format
(MM/DD/YY).

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
