Graphic browsing

When a graphic image is displayed, Hyplus allows further branching
directly from the displayed PCX or ColorTx file.

ColorTx branching -- add hypertext jumps directly to the
image screen .................. see

PCX branching -- include a separate file indicating the
graphic cursor position, size, and files
to branch to .................. see

Recommendations for adding graphic browsing to PCX files:

(1) Organize graphic to cover upper-left 2/3s of the display
(2) Add picture caption and description to bottom 1/3
(3) Add callouts (text with pointers) to right 1/3 of the display
(4) Create a .PCM ASCII file for each .PCX file
(5) The .PCM format for each jump is a line of text containing:
-- x y coordinate for flashing cursor
-- x y size of flashing cursor
-- hypertext jump associated with flashing cursor position
........ see

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
