MARS128.DOC

The MARS128.SYS is a driver for MarsTek's 128 hand scanner.

This driver has only two options:

/Cn Where n = DMA channel 1 or 3

/Hhhh Where hhh = a 3 digit hexadecimal port address.
The MarsTek 128 card can use port addresses:
100H, 200H, or 300H.

Example CONFIG.SYS entry:
DEVICE=MARS128.SYS /C3

The driver is set up for the MarsTek 128 and DMA channel 3.

This MarsTek hand scanner does not support interrupts. Therefore
to obtain the best performance, MARS128.SYS requires EMS.

Paintbrush may save buffers to the hard disk during the scan.
When the disk is accessed, scan lines can be lost, resulting in gaps
in the image. The entire scan may be scanned to Expanded Memory and
then read back as required, greatly reducing the chance of losing
scan lines.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
