Here is a slick way to change the ICON's in Windows 3
1. Highlite the ICON you want to change in Program Manager
2. Then click on FILE
3. When the File Menu extends click on PROPERTIES
4. Click on CHANGE ICON
5. Then when the Select Icon box comes up clicK on FILE NAME
enter any of the Windows 3 .exe files or for some interesting
Icons download use W3ICONS.DLL included as a seperate file.
Note: ***Copy W3ICONS.DLL to the Windows Directory***
6. Click on VIEW NEXT until you see the Icon that you want to use
7. Click on OK which brings you back to the Program Item Properties
box

NOTE: The following Windows 3 executable files have multiple Icons in them:

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
