What's New for Surf Version 1.1
-------------------------------
1. Added a "Zoom View" to let you see each individual sample. The
Zoom View comes up as a seperate scrollable window so you can still
see the "big picture" (i.e. scaled) view in the main window.

2. Surf will now take a WAV file as a command line parameter and show
it then play it.

3. Added more of the "last files opened" choices that appear on the File
menu (now there are 3). Also changed the way they work in general.

4. Added the ability to switch the main file to the cut or copied audio
in the buffer. That way you can cut/copy a section and then begin to
work with that section only. If you do this and want to save the
results, you MUST rename the WAV file or Surf will delete it when you
quit. Just do a "File | Save As..." and give a new name.

5. Fixed a bug in the "Peaks display" and "Extended display" that
sometimes showed the first sample incorrectly.

6. Now you can register with Visa or Mastercard (there is a $1 charge)
and get your license number immediately. Just call (904) 645-5568.

What's New for Surf Version 1.0
-------------------------------

1. Added editing capabilities like "Cut/Copy", "Insert/Mix",
"Copy From...", and "Paste To...". This was the primary goal
for this version. This'll let you do some basic editing so that
you don't have to leave Surf for the simple stuff. It wasn't a
whole lot of fun, but now I can get on with more effects.

2. Improved the manual Sample Rate setting dialog box. Now there's a
scroll bar so you don't have to type.

3. Added "Peaks only" display. This is faster than the "Extended"
display and the image is nearly as useful.

4. Added a "Reverse" function to play WAV backwards. God alone knows
why, but I suppose its useful.

5. Fixed a bug where users without a mouse could not exit the "About..."
dialog box.

6. Added "Very Long Echo" and "Reverb" (very short echo) to the "Echo"
menu, making a total of five different echo levels.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
