Thank you for trying GATLING!
GATLING is a Microsoft Windows 3.0 program which periodically shoots
a spray of bullets across your computer screen, leaving a trail of
bullet holes in your windows. These bullet holes remain on the
screen until the windows are refreshed by Windows itself. This
program has a couple of useful (if frivolous) purposes: if your
tendency is to fall asleep on your keyboard during those long word
processing sessions (or late nights playing Reversi), this program
will effectively wake you back up every so often. Better yet, to
surprise a colleague who uses Windows, run this program and hide its
icon behind some other window (such as Program Manager) just before
your friend sits down to work. Then stick around and watch the fun!
The program's normal mode is to blast the screen at time intervals of
about 90 seconds (on average), with a minimum time of 30 seconds
between blasts. This operation can be modified by a command line
parameter, which specifies the desired average interval in seconds.
The minimum interval used will be 1/5th of the average interval
value. Note that each blast can take 2 seconds, so an average value
of less than 10 seconds is not recommended!

This program is SHAREWARE. You are permitted to evaluate this
program for a period of 10 days. If, after that period, you find the
program useful, you must register the program and send $10 with your
name and address to the address shown above. You will then be
entitled to receive a free floppy-disk copy of the next major
revision of the program plus technical support, at no charge. For an
additional $5, I'll include the source code for the program.
You may also make additional copies for the purpose of allowing
others to evaluate the program, as long as no modifications or
additions are made to the software, its documentation, or any
associated files, and it is not bundled in a distribution of any
other software except that which is distributed as Shareware or
Public Domain. In summary, you should follow the guidelines set
forth by the Association of Shareware Professionals.
Lastly, if you find this program amusing and have any interesting
comments or ideas as to how it might be improved, please let me know!
I will attempt to incorporate the best of these suggestions in future
versions of the program. Thanks again for evaluating GATLING!
