10: [DEFAULT|BLACK|MONOCHROME]
11: [ON|OFF]

Here is the meaning of each line in the config file:

1: Registration code - if unregistered, leave as 0

2: You can either process ALL files or only files that
do not already have maximum compression. (You may
want to do ALL files in order to process the
comments, etc.) Otherwise, it is much faster to
skip files that already have max compression.
Line 2 is either ALL or NOTMAX.

3: If you use a 3rd party memory manager (like QEMM),
put YES, if not put NO.

*4: Comment File: Put the drive:\path\name of a comment
file you would like to add. This file is any text
file that you would like to appear as a comment.
If you use your own comment file, put it like so:
C:\TEMP\MYCMT.TXT (or any path\file you like).
Alternatively, you can use the DEFAULT comment file,
or choose NONE.
(Unregistered version must be set to DEFAULT)

*5: Comment Mode: Do you want to REPLACE the existing
comment with a new one, APPEND the new one to the
end of the existing one, SAVE the existing comment
unchanged, or STRIP all comments from the zip file.
(Unregistered version must be set to APPEND)

6: Drive:\Path\Name Location of PKZIP
(Ex: E:\ZIP\PKZIP.EXE)

7: Drive:\Path\Name Location of PKUNZIP

8: Do you want to record a Logfile (YES or NO)
The logfile will be created as a text file in the
directory that pkpress.exe is located as LOGFILE.TXT

*9: If the zip file has a FILE_ID.DIZ description file,
do you want to insert that description into the
comment? (YES or NO)
(Unregistered version must be set to NO)

10: Color Scheme - Default, Blue Background
Black, Black Background
Monochrome, Special Mono Background

11: ZIP file errorlevel testing ON or OFF
It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that you leave this ON

12: Your Name (FIRST LAST)
If registered, this must appear exactly as it does
in the REGCODE.TXT file you will receive.

* - can only alter with registered version

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
