Internal Commands Documentation
-------------------------------
Would you like to be able to add new internal commands to COMMAND.COM
or change existing internal commands? Don't look any further because
a new TSR has been created to handle this task.
Welcome to IC - the Internal Commands TSR. IC adds new internal com-
mands to COMMAND.COM and modifies the existing CLS command. IC does
not patch COMMAND.COM but makes use of an undocumented facility which
was added to COMMAND.COM beginning with DOS version 3.3. IC has been
tested on 3.3 and 4.x and will soon be available for 5.0.
IC comes with a handful of useful commands. The WAIT command causes
execution to be suspended until a specific hour and minute. SOUND is
used to spruce up batch files. EQUIP lists the number of serial and
parallel ports along with other internal equipment. ND or NMDIR can
rename directories. Finally, CLS can clear the screen to any color.
Help is available by typing a "?" after the name of the command.
This TSR has been designed to install itself only once in memory and
can easily be removed if it is the most recently installed TSR. The
environment is released before going resident saving additional mem-
ory. IC has been designed to not conflict with other TSRs unless
they do the same thing that IC does by adding new internal commands
with the same name as commands found in IC.
IC is quite useful as it stands. However, to obtain the most benefit
from IC, you should order the source code. The source code is nearly
1600 lines long and contained in a single assembler source file. The
MASM or TASM assemblers can be used to assemble this file. This file
is completely commented.
To order the source code, please send a cheque or money order for $25

Please specify either a 5-1/4 inch or 3-1/2 inch disk.
As it stands, IC is copyrighted but once you receive the source code,
you can remove this copyright by changing the name of the file IC.ASM
and all internal references to IC to any other name of your choice.
You can add other internal commands to this TSR. You can keep exist-
ing commands if you want. Once you've changed IC to another name,
you are free from copyright and can even sell the result if desired.
Thankyou for taking a look at this package. I think you'll find that
it makes using COMMAND.COM a lot more fun.
