Installation of BootIt on your computer system implies agreement
with the terms and conditions below.

Distribution of BootIt and its documentation is considered as is.
STAR Retrieval Systems offers no warranties of any kind, expressed
or implied. This includes, but is in no way limited to, warranties
of STAR Retrieval System's merchantability or fitness for a particular
purpose. Under no circumstances will STAR Retrieval Systems be liable
for any damages which result from the use of this program or the
inability to use it. Exclusion from liability includes, but is not
limited to, lost profits, lost savings, or any other incidental or
consequential damages.

U.S. Government RESTRICTED RIGHTS: Use, duplication, or disclosure by
the Government is subject to restrictions as set forth in subdivision
(b)(3)(ii) of the Rights in Technical Data and Computer Software clause
at 252.227-7013.

This software and documentation is protected by both United States
copyright law and international treaty provisions. This "Shareware"
version of BootIt is NOT PUBLIC DOMAIN NOR FREE SOFTWARE. Users
are granted a limited license to make and use an evaluation copy
for trial use on a private, non-commercial, non-governmental basis,
for the express purpose of determining whether BootIt is
suitable for their needs. At the end of this trial period you
should either register BootIt or discontinue using it! CONTINUING TO
USE BOOTIT BEYOND THE 30 DAY TRIAL PERIOD IS ILLEGAL!!

You may make copies of the software and documentation only for your
own use or for the use of others in conducting their own trial use,
however all materials relating to this license statement, software,
documentation, order information, copyright and trademark
statements must remain intact as supplied in the original shareware

other entities require a commercial license! ONLY PRIVATE USE is
permitted by this "Shareware" license.

If you license a copy of BootIt, you will receive discounts on
future versions, free technical support via the zone one BBS; and a
registered version of BootIt which does not display the opening
Shareware Message. In addition, your purchase will help us
continue to support, upgrade and develope new productivity products
for the PC, Windows and Bulletin Board Systems.

If you operate a BBS, please place a complete package copy in your
public download sections, (BBS operators may receive a special
discount if you display in your opening BBS panel that you are using
BootIt!).

NO FEES MAY BE CHARGED FOR THIS PROGRAM. Individual copies of BootIt
may be given to your friends and associates. You may also upload BootIt
to the public section of public BBS's. PLEASE DISTRIBUTE THIS UTILITY WITH
ALL ORIGINAL DOCUMENTATION ENCLOSED! DO NOT ADD ANY ADDITIONAL FILES TO
THIS ZIP FILE. BootIt may not be included with any other product.

Disk Vendors MUST obtain written permission from STAR Retrieval
Systems distributing any STAR, zone one, or 01 product. Generally,
ASP approved vendors will be granted permission; others are
handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us for details.

A Non-Commercial Use License is provided for direct upgrade of
Shareware users; it is ideal for private users. $10.00 is a small
price for the increased performance you receive!

A Commercial Use License provides commercial and governmental
interest with the highest performance utilities available! $20.00
is insignificant when compared to the decrease in system
lockups from using this product. Order direct from zone one.

A Commercial Site License for large commercial and governmental
users can provide the most cost effective means for your
organization to enjoy the benefits of using BootIt with the
minimum of cost. Site fees are based on the number of users.
Special discounts are also available for Non-Profit, Educational
and Charitable organizations. Call zone one for details.

ALL PRICES, TERMS AND DISCOUNT PLANS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT
NOTICE. Discounts are not cumulative; they apply to single orders

Although there are many existing older BOOT, COLDBOOT, and WARMBOOT
programs already in the public domain, it has recently come to our
attention that most do not work properly with many of the newer 386 and
486 systems. Many do not work properly with DOS 5.0, Quarterdeck's QEMM,
Quarterdeck's DesqView or within batch files associated with BBS software.

Hence, BootIt was created.

BootIt totally flushes and releases ALL MEMORY. ALL meaning... lower memory,
upper memory blocks, expanded memory, extended memory, all hooked vectors,
and RAM drives. That's like turning the power on your system OFF! Bringing
your system totally down.

This handy little utility should prove invaluable to BBS operators, WINDOWS,
DesqView and DOS users alike, replacing some of the older cold and warm boot
programs that are already in existence.
