AMÿCommandÿList 9
ArcMaster commands may be issued via the keyboard or the mouse and may originate from the main file list window, the top menu bar, or from controls within active dialog boxes. One way to find help for a particular topic is to access the main helpÿindex. Another way is to pull down a menu list and press the F1 key with command of interest highlighted. Notice that when a top menu list is active, the bottom line contains a helpful hint.

Compression operations are activated from the "Arc Cmds" menu or via the F9 key. If no files are tagged, the file under the active cursor bar will be treated as tagged. A compressiondialog box will appear that permits selection of compression options for the activeÿarchiveÿsystem.
Each compression dialog facilitates the entry of the target compressed file name and extension, the destination directory, and the DOS command line. Note that the default destination directory is always the directory in view by the inactive main file window. f
The command line editor field will dynamically update to display the current command line as various options are selected or de-selected. If desired, you may customize the command line by editing the field contents. This should be the last action taken before commencing compression because user field edits will be lost when the field loses input focus. º
If the HotÿArc feature is active, the compressed file name field will be set to the Hot Arc name. Note that a compression operation may not be commenced if the "Name:" field is empty.

Decompression operations affect only compressed files and are activated via the Arc Cmds menu or the F10 key . AM supports five decompression systems: ARC, ARJ, LHA, PAK, and ZIP. The type of file under the active cursor at the time of activation determines which decompression dialog appears. ´
Each decompressionÿdialog provides check box and radio buton controls to select decompression command options. The command line editor is dynamically updated as options are manipulated. The destination directory for the decompressed files can be manually edited. If you desire to customize the command line field, it must be the last thing you do before commencing the operation since user edits are lost when the field loses focus.
