Contents of the PRGCORPR.DOC file
Program name: PRGCORPR
Author : Ed Bersson 04/22/90
Purpose : To create a file containing only records containing a
character string entered at the keyboard. That file (called
ALLFILE2.LST) can be sent to a printer with 120 characters
per line capability using the DOS COPY command.
Usage : To use this program you must first download the file
ALLFILES.ZIP available on the Programmer's Corner
It is in file area # 2, file # 1. After unzipping the text file
ALLFILES.LST you may then run PRGCORPR. PRGCORPR expects
ALLFILES.LST to be in the PROGCRNR directory on the C
drive (ie C:\PROGCRNR\ALLFILES.LST). The C source code is
provided and this can be changed if it is inconvenient.
What it does: PRGCORPR will prompt you for a character which you wish to
search for. The search is case-insensitive so it does not
matter whether you enter the character string in upper case,
lower case or both. PRGCORPR will then create (or overwrite
an existing) file ALLFILE2.LST in the same directory (C:\PROGCRNR). The ALLFILE2.LST file will be formatted so
that you can send it to a printer with the DOS COPY command.
Enter search string desired (Max 20 chars - Case insensitive): windows
Search string entered: [WINDOWS]
8041 records read from file ALLFILES.LST.
159 records found with search string [WINDOWS].
2 records with missing LFs corrected.
189 records written to file ALLFILE2.LST.
PRGCORPR has finished.
