Contents of the README.TXT file
The program is be menu driven and the menu is John Strong's
pulldown menu from his EZWINDOWS libraries. There is a shareware
version on this bulletin board with a demo of the menu. The menu
options so far consist of File, Inventory, Search, Help. The only option
that works so far is the new and it only contains enough information to
demonstrate what the program will look like.
If you select new under the file menu, some data will be displayed on
the screen. You can use the arrow keys to move within a field, tab to
go to the next field, home to go to the first field, end to go to the
last field on a line. The up/down arrows move to another line. When you
cursor down to the bottom of the page, the page will scroll up. It will
also scroll down.
The editor is a full to be a full screen editor. When you move off a
line, that record is updated.
There is just enough information in the program to demonstrate what it
will look like. There is plenty more code to write. I am going to type
in the rest of the data statements for the different pages. This will
take a while. So, if anyone wants to take a whack at writing some part
of the program, feel free. Just post a msg in the basic are. The thread
concerning this project is "Lurking vs activity."
I guess I should explain a bit more about the program. It just
duplicates some inventory forms for household movers. The forms contain
pages for different rooms in a house, plus pages for books, valuables,
etc. The program will divide everything up into pages just like the
forms; however, all records will be stored in one long random access
file. Each record will be a typed variable - Dim Inventory(1) as Inven
in one of the .BI files.
The reason for writing this program is to keep me too busy to do dishes.
