BLAZONS! 1.1

Some folks have been having trouble running BLAZONS! on their systems.
I believe this has to do with a lack of memory. This program has run
properly on every machine I have tried it on, from an XT with 640 K of
RAM to a 486 with 4 meg of RAM. I think the problems are caused by
other programs such as TSR's gobbling up some of the available RAM or
too many programs running under WINDOWS.

The best I can come up with is to check the CONFIG.SYS file on your system.
If there is a line "DEVICE=EMM386..." with the "NOEMS" switch appearing on
that line, the "NOEMS" should be deleted. This can affect how much
conventional memory is available to run programs. If the "NOEMS" is deleted,
the system should be rebooted for the change to take effect.

If BLAZONS! will still not run, check the AUTOEXEC.BAT file to see if
there are TSR's started up and if so, see if you can delete any of them,
reboot the system and try again.

If BLAZONS! will STILL not run, send me either a printout of, or a disk
containing a copy of both the CONFIG.SYS and the AUTOEXEC.BAT files and
a description of your system and I'll see what I can figure out.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
