³Installation ³
ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ
Make a directory called Temp. A directory not a sub directory!
Copy Aquav40.exe to the temp directory.

Extract aquav40 by typing from the dos prompt, in the temp
directory aquav40. [run aquav40.exe in the temp dir]

Type Install and answer yes to all prompts.

Your done! Change to the Aqua directory and type fish.

program created dir Mag Holds Magazine index file

In addition to the text or Gif files listed above, each directory, except
the aqua and pic directories must contain the r1$.dat file. It will be
unique to each directory. [ Ven. Med. Fish. Eqp. Water. each must have
its individule r1$.dat.]

The Aqua directory will contain the executable fish.exe, aquamed.cfg,
Aquacare.doc, and the readme.1st files only. Aquacare will not work if you
alter the aquamed.cfg file!

The pic directory will contain rpic.com / 2show.exe and your gif files. I
have tested these gif view programs and they work well on vga screens.
They are not mine and are not registered! Its screen, has a built in timer
that can be a pain. If you register it it would be better! If you wish to
use a different viewer you might try and rename the .exe of your viewer to
rpic.com and see if it will work. You must remove the original rpic.com
from the pic directory before you try this. Its your choice and up to you!
Be sure to save the original rpic.com. If yours wont work you can always
put it back. Aquamed has set rpic.com to autodetect vga. You cant change
this internal call! Once rpic.com is runnig you can make changes to it
but its not perminate. It will revert back to vga each time you exit back
to Aquamed.

³ Adding Files³
ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ

I have included some database files in each directory to get you started.
You can use Dos Edit or any ascii text editor to view the r1$.dat file and
make changes as explained below.

Med directory files are by number with the extension of .med
Pic directory files are by their name no need to change anything.
Fish directory files are by number with the extension of .fsh
Eqp directory files are by number with the extension of .eqp
Ven directory files are by number with the extension if .ven
water directory files are by number with the extension of .wtr

³Adding to the database³
ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ

When you add records to the tank or breeding Information base
Just follow the prompts. The program is a data entry
style database.

As you have noticed most of this program is a text reader type of database.
Exception is the Tank Information data Base.

Semi Automatic file additions to the text Databases

Select menu selection from the menu. The program will advise you of the last
file name in the directory index file r1$.dat. At the prompt simply enter
the next file number and extension and the
r1$.dat is updated for you! Next rename the text file you want to add, to the
file number you just entered and copy it to the proper directory. Your done.

Manual file additions to text databases

You can add information to the text database by including your
own ascii text file to the proper directory. Find the file called
r$1.dat and simply add the next number to the dat file.
Rename your text file the to then next number you added without
extension. See the following example:

[Med directory r$1.dat additions]

r$1.dat reads you add number 4 and it now reads
1.med 1.med
2.med 2.med
3.med 3.med
eof 4.med
eof

You save the r1$.dat file you just edited.
You now rename the text file you added to the directory as 4 [no extension].
Your done.
You have just added record #4 to the Medications database.

You may wish to edit your file to include a at the end of each line.
This insures that the text displays properly on the screen.

[Ven directory r$1.dat additions]

r$1.dat reads you add number 4.ven and it now reads
1.ven 1.ven
2.ven 2.ven
3.ven 3.ven
eof 4.ven
eof

You save the r1$.dat file you just edited.
You now rename the text file you added to the directory as 4.ven
Your done.
You have just added record #4 to the Equipment database.
You may wish to edit your file to include a at the end of each line.
This insures that the text displays properly on the screen.

Use the two above examples to make all additions or deletions to the files
directories.
