| DOS Driver for EIDE2300PLUS VL-Bus IDE Controller |

Your EIDE2300PLUS disk controller needs the device drivers to take the
advantage of the high performance 32-bit VL-Bus when running under
assorted operating systems.
You can use the installation program "EIDE2300.EXE" to install the DOS
driver and Windows driver automatically(Please refer to the
EIDE2300PLUS Installation Guide for details). If you want to install
the drivers by yourself, please follow the procedures below:
1. Complete the installation steps from (1) to (8) which are described
in the EIDE2300PLUS Installation Guide and boot to the DOS prompt.
2. Copy the driver EIDE2300.SYS to your system in the appropriate path.
3. Add the following statement to your CONFIG.SYS file:
device=C:\EIDE2300\EIDE2300.SYS [/F] [/W] [/P] [/D0:n or /M0:m]
[/D1:n or /M1:m] [/X2]
The parameters F, W and P define the operating mode, and D0, D1, M0,
M1, n, and m define the speed settings of the attached hard drives
NOTE: Only one speed mode can be specified per VL-IDE device. Either
D or M speed mode should be specified on the individual VL-IDE device,
NOT both. It is possible to define different modes for separate
VL-IDE devices. Example: /D0:d /M0:m is illegal
/D0:d /M1:m is legal
F : EIDE2300PLUS controller works in the Fast mode (Default operation
is in Turbo mode).
W : EIDE2300PLUS controller works in the 16-bit data access mode.
Certain motherboard CPUs(for example, IBM 486 SLC2) have a 16-bit
external data bus and cannot operate in the default 32-bit data
access mode.
P : EIDE2300PLUS controller works in the Power-Saving-Detection mode.
This parameter is used when the IDE drive is not fully compatible
with the power saving functions.
D0 : drive 0 PIO speed setting
D1 : drive 1 PIO speed setting
n : drive speed from 0 to 8, or A
0 to 8 : PIO speed level (speed 8 is the so-called MODE 3 timing)
A : IORDY indicator
M0 : drive 0 DMA speed setting
M1 : drive 1 DMA speed setting
m : drive speed from 0 to 8
0 to 8 : DMA speed level
X2 : Disable ISA-IDE IDE HD support (default: Enabled)
In the Fast(F) mode, the EIDE2300PLUS disk controller supports 32-bit
VL-Bus I/O access. In Turbo(T) mode, the EIDE2300PLUS not only supports
32-bit VL-Bus I/O access but also read/write multiple commands. Since
read/write multiple commands allow the host to access disk data in
multiple-sector blocks, the Turbo mode will usually be faster.
Note that not all IDE drives support the read/write multiple commands.
Usually, you may set your EIDE2300PLUS to run in the Turbo mode. When
your system is brought up, the driver EIDE2300.SYS will automatically
issues an Identify Drive command to check if the attached IDE drive(s)
support the read/write multiple commands. In case your drive(s) does
not support the read/write multiple commands, the EIDE2300PLUS disk
controller will automatically be forced to run in the Fast mode.
Please also note: While some IDE drives may respond to the Identify
Drive command and confirm its capability to support the read/write
multiple commands, they may not support the read/write multiple
commands properly. In such cases, you will need to specify the
operating mode as "F" explicitly to ensure reliable operation of such
IDE drives.
Example:
The DOS driver EIDE2300.SYS resides in the root directory of the drive
C:. If you want your EIDE2300PLUS controller to run in the TURBO mode;
drive 0 at speed 3 and drive 1 at speed 5. Please add the following
statement to the file CONFIG.SYS.
device = c:\EIDE2300.SYS /D0:3 /D1:5
If your EIDE2300PLUS controller has to run in the Fast mode, the
statement must be changed to:
device = c:\EIDE2300.SYS /f /D0:3 /D1:5
If the DOS driver is installed manually, you might have the following
three types of prompt messages when you boot up the system.
(a) HDD 0 setting: FAST Mode, Speed 5 by DEVICE DRIVER AUTOMATICALLY
HDD 1 setting: Turbo Mode, DMA Speed 5 by DEVICE DRIVER AUTOMATICALLY
Where the operating mode and the speed parameter may vary with the hard
drive(s) attached. This message will be shown when the device driver is
installed without any user specified parameter and the drive(s)
attached can be found in the internal speed table of the DOS driver.
(b) HDD 0 setting: FAST Mode, Speed 2 by HARDWARE JUMPER SETTING
HDD 1 setting: Turbo Mode, Speed 2 by HARDWARE JUMPER SETTING

Where the operating mode and speed parameter may vary with the hard
drive(s) attached. This message will be shown when the HDD(s) can't be
found in the internal speed table. It might appear when the drive(s)
are brand new models for phe device driver, or the device driver is
copied from other PC's hard drive. The Installation Utility stands
for the EIDE2300.EXE.

Where the operating mode and speed parameter may vary with the hard
drive(s) attached. This message will be shown when user defined
parameter is entered with the DOS device driver. The Installation
Utility stands for the EIDE2300.EXE.
Four IDE Drive Note
-------------------
1. The DOS Device driver "EIDE2300.SYS" loads and supports the IDE
hard disks on the secondary ISA-IDE connector. You can connect
up to four IDE Hard disk Drives on your EIDE2300.
2. The Master/Slave drive settings for drives on the ISA-IDE
connector are the same as for VL-IDE connector. There should
be only one master and one slave on the ISA-IDE connector.
3. The ROM BIOS on the EIDE2300PLUS controller supports large IDE
drives on the VL-IDE (J1) connector ONLY.
4. If you would like to connect 3 (or 4) IDE hard disks, make sure the
DOS driver EIDE2300.SYS in installed. Than you can use the
EIFDISK.EXE enclosed in the "Drivers and Installation Utilities"
diskette to partition you 3rd and 4th IDE drives before formatting
them.
IDE CDROM and other IDE Devices
--------------------------------
Other devices such as IDE CDROM and TAPE MUST support IDE ATAPI
interface. The drive manufacturer provides software drivers to
attach these drives.
Be sure to configure the proper master/slave drive settings. On
BOTH PRIMARY and SECONDARY connectors, there is one master and one
slave on EACH connector.
On either PRIMARY or SECONDARY connector, the other IDE device
relies on their supplied drivers. The EIDE2300.SYS driver does
not load support for IDE devices besides IDE hard disks.
When installed on the PRIMARY connector, set in the Mainboard
Bios drive type to "not installed" for the other IDE device and
when necessary, indicate the parameters IRQ14 PORT 1F0 for the
driver installation.
When installed on the SECONDARY connector, indicate IRQ15 and PORT
170 for the driver installation.
[Fast IO driver installation]
There is a utility COMS.EXE under the \UART\DOS.DRV sub-directory of
the Device Driver Diskette. Please browse the README.TXT file in the
same sub-directory and install the utility as described to utilize the
UART16550 fast IO.

| EIDE2300PLUS device driver for Microsoft Windows 3.1 and |
| Windows for Workgroups 3.11 |
+============================================================+
The file EIDE2300.386 is the Microsoft Windows 3.1 disk driver for the
EIDE2300PLUS disk controller.
While Microsoft Windows version 3.1 supports 32-bit disk access, the
disk data transfer between host and the IDE adapter is still limited
by the 16-bit ISA bus. If you want to speed up your hard drives under
Windows through the 32-bit VL-Bus, you need this driver. In addition,
the driver also allows your host to access the disk data through the
faster "read/write multiple" commands.
If you choose to install the Windows driver manually, you should
complete the installation steps from (1) to (8) which are described
in the EIDE2300PLUS Installation Guide, then follow the steps below:
1. Copy the driver EIDE2300.386 to your system in the appropriate path.
It is recommended that the driver EIDE2300.386 be copied to the
Windows SYSTEM directory.
2. Check if the following lines exit in the [386Enh] section of your
SYSTEM.ini file.
[386Enh]
32BitDiskAccess=ON
device=*int13
If the statements do not exist, add them into the [386Enh] section.
If the statements exist, but 32BitDiskAccess is set to "OFF", change
it to "ON".
3. Delete the "device=*wdctrl" device setting.
Delete the command line "device=*wdctrl" from the [386Enh] section
of your SYSTEM.INI file, if it exists.
4. Install the virtual device "EIDE2300.386".
Add the following command lines in the [386Enh] section of the
SYSTEM.INI file:
device=[drive:][\path\]EIDE2300.386
DisksAccessMode=[Fast|Turbo] [/W] [/D0:n|/M0:m] [/D1:n|/M1:m]
The [drive:] and [\path\] point to the directory that contains
EIDE2300.386 file. Note that the setting must specify the full path
of the device driver EIDE2300.386.
The setting of disk_access_mode specifies the disk access mode as
follows:
Fast : EIDE2300PLUS controller works in the Fast mode
Turbo : EIDE2300PLUS controller works in the Turbo mode
(default mode)
W : EIDE2300PLUS controller works in the 16-bit data access mode.
Certain motherboard CPUs(for example, IBM 486 SLC2) have a
16-bit external data bus and cannot operate in the default
32-bit data access mode.
D0 : drive 0 PIO speed setting
D1 : drive 1 PIO speed setting
n : drive speed from 0 to 8, or A
0 to 8 : PIO speed level(speed 8 is the so-called MODE 3
timing
A : IORDY indicator
M0 : drive 0 DMA speed setting
M1 : drive 1 DMA speed setting
m : drive speed from 0 to 8
0 to 8 : DMA speed level
Note : If no parameter is specified, the EIDE2300PLUS disk
controller will be set to run under the default Turbo
and 32 bit data access mode.

1. If there is a ROM BIOS on the EIDE2300PLUS controller,
the EIDE2300.386 supports LBA mode only on the VL/IDE (J1) connector
and when it is set as the primary controller.
[Fast IO driver installation]
If you are using Windows 3.1, there is a device driver COM.386 under
the \UART\WIN.DRV sub-directory of the Device Driver Diskette. Please
browse the README file in the same sub-directory and install the device
driver as described to utilize the UART16550 fast IO.
If you are using Windows for Workgroups 3.11, there is a device driver
SERIAL.386 under the \UART\WG.DRV sub-directory of the Device Driver
Diskette. Please browse the README.TXT file in the same sub-directory
and install the device driver as described to utilize the UART16550
fast IO.

| Netware 3.xx & 4.01 disk driver for EIDE2300PLUS Controller |

It's assumed that you are familiar with Netware installation. If this
is not the case, please refer to related documents.
Please follow the steps below to install the driver for Netware 3.10,
and use EIDE311.DSK(EIDE401.DSK) instead of EIDE310.DSK in the following
procedure when you are installing Netware 3.11, 3.12 or 4.01. Note that
you don't have to load the ISADISK.DSK when you are installing the
Netware driver for EIDE2300PLUS disk controller.
1. After you have installed the EIDE2300PLUS disk controller, bring up
the Netware server until the prompt ":" appears on the screen.
2. Type the following command after the ":" prompt:
:load EIDE310 [/F|/T] [/W] [/D0:n] [/D1:m] port=1f0 int=e
The parameters F, T and W define the operating mode. The parameters
D0, n, D1 and m define the speed setting for the attached IDE
drives.
F : EIDE2300PLUS controller works in thd Fast mode (Default
operation is in Turbo mode)
W : EIDE2300PLUS controller works in the 16-bit data access mode.
Certain motherboard CPUs(for example, IBM 486 SLC2) have a
16-bit external data bus and cannot operate in the default
32-bit data access mode.
D0 : drive 0 speed setting

Usually, you do not need to enter any speed parameters during the
installation process. Since when you execute the EIDE2300.EXE to
install the DOS driver, the device drivers for Netware are also
reconfigured for the optimal speed setting.
Note: If no operating mode parameter is specified, the EIDE2300PLUS
controller will be set to run in the default Turbo and 32 bit
data access mode.
In the Fast(F) mode, the EIDE2300PLUS disk controller supports
32-bit VL-Bus I/O access. In the Turbo(T) mode, the EIDE2300PLUS not
only supports 32-bit VL-Bus I/O access but also read/write multiple

| IBM OS/2 2.x disk driver for EIDE2300PLUS Controller |

EIDE2300.ADD is the driver for IBM OS/2 2.0 and IBM OS/2 2.1.
Your EIDE2300PLUS disk controller needs this device driver to take the
advantage of the high performance 32-bit VL-Bus when running under
OS/2.
Please follow the steps below in installing the driver for the
EIDE2300PLUS disk controller.
1. Install the OS/2 driver.
Copy EIDE2300.ADD to the OS/2 directory of your system.
Use a text editor to edit the CONFIG.SYS file. Add the following
line:
BASEDEV = EIDE2300.ADD [/A:0 [/U:0 /SPEED:n] [/U:1 /SPEED:m]]
Note: This line must not contain either drive or path information.
parameters:
A: adapter number
U: drive number
SPEED: drive speed setting
n: speed of drive 0 from 0 to 7
m: speed of drive 1 from 0 to 7
Example:
If you want your EIDE2300PLUS controller to run with drive 0 at
speed 3 and drive 1 at speed 5. Please add the following statement
to the file CONFIG.SYS.
BASEDEV = EIDE2300.ADD /A:0 /U:0 /SPEED:3 /U:1 /SPEED:5
2. Delete the "BASEDEV = IBM1S506.ADD" device setting.
Delete the command line "BASEDEV = IBM1S506.ADD" from the CONFIG.SYS
file, if it exists.
3. Reboot the system.

You need this driver only if you want to install TURBO mode under
Windows NT.
Please follow the steps below to install the driver.
1. In "Program Manager," doubly click on "Windows NT Setup" in
"Main" group.
2. In "Windows NT Setup", select "Options",
next choose "/Add/Remove SCSI Adapters..."
3. In "SCSI Adapter Setup", click on "Add...".
4. In "Select SCSI Adapter Option", select
"Other (Requires a disk from a hardware manufacturer)" in the
"Adapter:" box.
5. One "Insert Diskette" box will appear.
Insert the driver diskette into Drive A: and press
6. One "Select OEM Option" box will appear.
Select "Promise Technology Inc. EIDE2300PLUS Controller" and click on "OK".
7. One "Select SCSI Adapter Option" will appear.
Click on "Install".
8. After successful installation, the "SCSI Adapter Setup" box will
show that "Promise Technology Inc. EIDE2300PLUS Controller"
has been installed.
9. Reboot your computer to assure the proper working of the driver.
******** Changing Operating Mode *******
If you want to change the operating mode, please type the following
command:
PTITURBO
The following message will be shown on the screen to ask you which mode
will be set:
Will the controller be in TURBO or FAST mode
(T/F)? (default=T)
Please answer 'T' or 'F' for your setup.
After the changes have been made, please do a hard boot of the system.
******** Removing the Driver ***
1. In "Program Manager," doubly click on "Windows NT Setup" in
"Main" group.
2. In "Windows NT Setup", select "Options",
next choose "/Add/Remove SCSI Adapters..."
3. In "SCSI Adapter Setup",
select "Promise Technology Inc. EIDE2300PLUS Controller" and
click on "Remove".
4. After successful removing, the "SCSI Adapter Setup" box will
show that "Promise Technology Inc. EIDE2300PLUS Controller"
has been removed.
[FLOPPY driver installation]
If you are using Windows NT 3.1 which was shipped from Microsoft before
February, 1994, there is a floppy driver FLOPPY.SYS under the \FLOPPY
sub-directory of the Device Driver Diskette. Please browse the
README.TXT file in the same sub-directory and install the device driver
as described to avoid the compatibility problem of your floppy drive
when installing and using the Windows NT 3.1.

You need this driver only if you want to install TURBO mode under
Windows NT.
Please follow the steps below to install the driver.
1. In "Program Manager," doubly click on "Windows NT Setup" in
"Main" group.
2. In "Windows NT Setup", select "Options",
next choose "/Add/Remove SCSI Adapters..."
3. In "SCSI Adapter Setup", click on "Add...".
4. In "Select SCSI Adapter Option", select
"Other (Requires a disk from a hardware manufacturer)" in the
"Adapter:" box.
5. One "Insert Diskette" box will appear.
Insert the driver diskette into Drive A:, key in "A:\NT35"
and press
6. One "Select OEM Option" box will appear.
Select "Promise Technology Inc. EIDE2300 Controller" and click on "OK".
7. One "Select SCSI Adapter Option" will appear.
Click on "Install".
8. After successful installation, the "SCSI Adapter Setup" box will
show that "Promise Technology Inc. EIDE2300 Controller"
has been installed.
9. Reboot your computer to assure the proper working of the driver.

sub-directory of the Device Driver Diskette. Please browse the
README.TXT file in the same sub-directory and install the device driver
as described to avoid the compatibility problem of your floppy drive
when installing and using the Windows NT 3.1.

| UNIX Driver for EIDE2300PLUS Disk Controller |

It is assumed that you are familiar with UNIX installation. If this
is not the case, please refer to related documents.
******** Install EIDE2300PLUS Controller ********
1. Follow the installation step (1) through step (7), as described
in the Installation Guide, to install the EIDE2300PLUS controller in
to your system.
2. Insert a bootable DOS diskette into drive A: and bring up your
system with DOS.
3. Insert the diskette "Installation Utility & Drivers" in drive A, and
execute the installation utility "EIDE2300.EXE".
4. Choose the "Analyze Hard Drive(s)" function to obtain the optimal
drive speed(s) and write down these values.
5. Turn off the system power and set the speed jumper according to the
data you obtained in step 4.
Note: When the peed setting parameter you obtained in step 4 is an
ODD number, you should set the hardware jumpers with the even
number which is one grade lower.
For example, if the optimal speed is 5, you should set the
hardware speed setting to speed 4 to ensure data security.
Should you have two IDE drives attached and the optimal speed
settings for these two drives are different, the slower one
should be used for hardware jumper setting.
6. After completing the steps above, you can continue to install the
UNIX operating system into your hard drive.
******** Install UNIX Driver ********
This driver is for AT&T UNIX SVR 4.0 and SCO UNIX 3.2.X. The driver is
provided in another diskette of your EIDE2300PLUS package.
Please follow the steps below to install the UNIX driver:
1. Insert the diskette which contains the UNIX Driver into drive A:
and type the following command after the prompt "#":
# installpkg
2. The following message will be shown on the screen:
Will the EIDE2300PLUS controller be in TURBO or FAST mode
(T/F)? (default=T)
Please answer 'T' or 'F' to select the EIDE2300PLUS
operating mode.
3. Done! You have completed the installation if you are running
AT&T UNIX SVR 4.0.
4. If you are running SCO UNIX, type the following commands after the
driver is installed.
# cd /
# shutdown -y -g0 -i6
The commands will shutdown and reboot your system with the new
kernel.
******** Changing Operating Mode *******
If you want to change the operating mode after your system has been
brought up with the new kernel, please type the following command:
# ptisetmode
The following messages will be shown on the screen:
This command will rebuild the kernel and shutdown the system
automatically.
Do you really want to proceed with it (Y/N)? (default=N)
Please answer 'Y' or 'N'.
The following message will be shown on the screen to ask you which mode
will be set:

******** Removing the Driver ********
If you want to remove the driver and restore the original hard disk
device driver, please type the following command after the prompt #:
# removepkg
Some installed package name(s) will be shown on the screen. Please
choose "EIDE2300PLUS UNIX Driver". The removing procedure will continue.
If you are running the SCO UNIX, please type the following commands to
shutdown and reboot your system:
# cd /
# shutdown -y -g0 -i6

Introduction
------------
When you use Windows for Workgroups version 3.11 with serial
communications software, you may experience the following problems:
- If you are using a Pentium(TM)-based machine with a 16550 UART chip,
your system stops responding (hangs) if there is data in the chip
when the serial communications application attempts to open the
communications port.
A problem with the 16550 UART implementation causes the chip to
become trapped in a mode in which data is always detected in its
FIFO buffer.
- When you are using communications software, you may be able to make
one connection after starting Windows for Workgroups, but any
subsequent connections fail and may hang your system.
This problem occurs when SERIAL.386 sends an extra NUL character
through the port when the communications software calls the
CloseComm application program interface (API) function. While this
does not normally cause problems, your second connection may fail
with some modems.
The WG1001 disk included with this Application Note contains an
updated SERIAL.386 driver that corrects both of these problems.
To install the updated SERIAL.386 file
--------------------------------------
1. Quit Windows for Workgroups.
2. Make a backup copy of the currently installed SERIAL.386 file by
typing the following at the MS-DOS command prompt and then pressing
ENTER
ren
where
subdirectory.
For example, if your Windows directory is called WINDOWS and is on
drive C, type the following at the MS-DOS command prompt and then
press ENTER:
ren c:\windows\system\serial.386 serial.old
3. Insert the enclosed WG1001 disk in the appropriate floppy disk
drive.
4. To copy the file to the Windows SYSTEM subdirectory, type the
following at the MS-DOS command prompt and then press ENTER

For example, if the WG1001 disk is in drive A and your Windows
directory is called WINDOWS and is on drive C, type the following
at the MS-DOS command prompt and then press ENTER:

* The purpose of this driver is to fix the problem user may encounter while
accessing the serail ports in MicroSoft Windows 3.1. For example, if the
system hangs up after trying to send/receive data to/from an external
MODEM, this driver may be able to fix this problem.
* The process to install this driver is :
1. Boot your system with DOS, do not enter Windows.
2. Go to the directory where your Windows 3.1 locates.
3. Enter the directory SYSTEM.
4. Rename the file COMM.DRV in this directory to COMM.ORG.
5. Copy the new COMM.DRV from diskette to this directory.
6. Now, you can run Windows with the new driver.

Microsoft WindowsNT FLOPPY.SYS Update
This application note describes the pertinent modifications for the
updated WindowsNT FLOPPY.SYS driver that will begin shipping from
Microsoft in February of 1994.
PROBLEM
Diskette read errors reported with Microsoft WindowsNT and SMC37C66X
Super I/O controllers.
CAUSE
The problem involves the interpretation of the "Seek End" flag (Status
Register 0, Bit 5) by Microsoft's FLOPPY.SYS diskette driver. The
SMC37C66X and Intel 82077 specifications both state that this bit
should be set after an implied Seek command. Apparently, the 82077 does
not always set this bit properly, and the original FLOPPY.SYS driver
was developed to expect the unspecified response. DOS, OS/2, UNIX and
other OS floppy interfaces mask this bit on implied seeks to maintain
full compatibility. The upgraded WindowsNT driver includes this mask
(requires one line of code). This ambiguity does not affect Explicit
Seek commands.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Microsoft Hardware Vendor Relations Group has been advised of this
problem and has responded by incorporating the upgraded driver in the
next version of WindowsNT to begin shipping in February, 1994. The new
driver is currently available on SMC's Bulletin Board System,
(516) 273-4936, and is being placed on Microsoft's Bulletin Board
System, (206) 936-6735. This driver can be installed on current
systems with the following procedure.
WindowsNT with FAT File System
1. Boot system with a DOS diskette
2. Copy the updated FLOPPY.SYS over the existing one
3. Remove DOS diskette and reboot under WindowsNT
WindowsNT with Non-FAT File System (i.e. NTFS)
1. Rename old FLOPPY.SYS to FLOPPY.OLD
2. Copy new FLOPPY.SYS to hard disk

******** Install Windows NT 3.5 ATAPI Driver (IDE CDROM Support) ********
This driver support for Windows NT 3.5 and after version, but not support
for NT 3.1.
The driver is provided on diskette of your Promise IDE and EIDE noncache
card packages. Include: DC2300, DC2300plus, EIDE2300, EIDE2300plus, VG3
and VG4 series card.
Please follow the steps below to install the Windows NT 3.5 driver:
(When you installed this driver. You need to run ptivgapi.exe to set the
turbo/fast mode. If you don't run ptivgapi.exe, you just used fast mode)
Promise Technology Inc. EIDE2300 Series VL-IDE Adapter Driver Installation
--------------------------------------------
1) From the Program Manager, double click on "Windows NT Setup" in the
Main group.
2) Select "Options/Add/Remove SCSI Adapters..."
3) Click on "Add" then warning dialog will appear and click "OK".
4) The "Select SCSI Adapter Option" dialog will appear; select
"Other (Requires a disk from a hardware manufacturer)" from the
"Adapter:" list box.
5) Next, the "Insert Diskette" dialogbox will appear; insert the Promise IDE
driver disk into Drive A: and type "A:\NT35" into dialogbox.
6) Next, the "Select OEM Option" dialogbox will appear; select
"Promise Technology Inc. EIDE2300 Series VL-IDE COntroller" and click
"OK".
7) Next the "Select SCSI Adapter Option" dialogbox will appear; click on
the "Install" button in the dialogbox.
8) If installation is successful, the "SCSI Adapter Setup" dialogbox will
reappear, and "Promise Technology Inc. EIDE2300 Series VL-IDE Controller"
will be listed as an installed driver.
9) Run ptivgapi.exe in "DOS Prompt" or "FilesManager" and choice turbo/fast
mode.
10) Reboot your system to load the Promise EIDE2300 Series IDE ATAPI driver.
11) If you want change turbo/fast mode, you just need run ptivgapi.exe again
and Reboot your system.

Please insert that diskette as requested.

Please choose the appropriate one.
5. Done! if you are running AT&T UNIX SVR 4.0.
6. If you are running SCO UNIX, type the following commands after
the driver is installed.
