To bypass EMPIRE's copy protection, haul out your favorite hex editor. Copy
EMPIRE.EXE to EMPIRE.FOO so you'll have a backup in case something goes
wrong.
Search for FF 76 D2 FF 76 D6.
Just after this point will be a CALL looking something like 9A C7 10 22 33.
Starting at 9A, convert this to a relative JMP: E9 30 01.
Write the changes to disk and give it a try.
