This file will tell you how to remove the copy protection
from CARMEN.EXE in "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego ?"
by Broderbund.

Step 1: Copy "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego ?" files
to a new disk or to a subdirectory on your hard drive.
Never! use your original disk to run this debug batch
file on. Something could always go wrong and you'd be
up the proverbial creek. If the deprotect is sucessful
on the new copy the judgment is thhen up to you. This
deprotect will work with the carmen.exe file dated
3-11-87. Any other date may or may not work. Use at
your own risk!

Step 2: Either copy DEBUG.COM to the new subdirectory (disk)
or make sure that it's located in your path statment.

Step 3: Log on to the drive or subdirectory where the new files
are located. At dos prompt, type CARWORLD .

( means 'carriage return' or 'enter')

After the batch has finished running you should be able to run
Where in the World is Carmen is Sandiego from hard disk, or any
other disk without the silly need to insert a master disk into
drive A. Now you can backup the disk or copy the disk as you
should be entitled to. Have fun, the game runs much better on
the hard disk!!
This game cracked by The Medicine Man

Thanks to the Byte Doctor for the insight into the protection scheme.
