Subject: Problems Saving Your WinFax Server Configuration

Situation:
==========
You attempt to save your Server Configuration and it causes a General
Protection Fault (GPF) on your system, similar to the following:

SETUPFAX.EXE caused GPF in SetupFax.exe at 0001:1DF3

Solution:
=========
Ensure that the \WINFAX\WFXNET.INI file has not been assigned READ ONLY
attributes. The WFXNET.INI file should have READ/WRITE attributes.

1. From Windows File Manager, locate and place your cursor on the
\WINFAX\WFXNET.INI file.

2. Select Properties from the File Menu.

3. In the Attributes section of the File Properties Menu, ensure that the
WFXNET.INI file has not been marked as Read Only.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
