Subject: AdapTable Column Window Disappears

Situation:
==========
The left-most column in a customizable Window disappears when you drag the
right edge of the column border over to the left edge.

Attempting to remove the column from the Display List and Re-adding the column
does not correct the problem.

Solution:
=========
1. Make a note of the window or field which disappeared. For example, the
Status field.

2. Exit and close WinFax.

3. Use a Windows text editor, such as Notepad or SYSEDIT to edit the
\WINDOWS\WINFAX.INI file.

4. Locate the [LOG] section.

5. Find the line which refers to the missing field or column. For example,
the status field would be:

Status=0,1

The syntax of these lines are:

Fieldname=[width in pixels],[0{not visible} or 1{visible}]

6. Change the first value to an arbitrary number, for example "15".

7. The second number in the line should be "1". For example:

Status=15,1

8. Save the changes to the WINFAX.INI file.

9. Start WinFax.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
