Subject: @ Variables Are Not Filled In When Sending a Fax

Situation
=========
When sending a fax while running in Network Mode or via CAS, you discover
that not all of the @ variables in your cover page are being filled in.

Solution:
=========
Only the following variables are expanded in a cover page when running in
Network Mode:

@D - Date
@T - Time
@P - Page
@N - Total Pages
@S - Sender Name
@R - Recipient Name
@X - Recipient Fax Number

If possible, run WinFax in Standalone Mode using a non-CAS modem which is
local to your computer. Do the following:

- From the Setup Menu, select Fax Modem. The Fax/Modem Setup dialog
appears
- Change the port setting from WinFax PRO for Networks to the port where
your fax/modem is located. The dialog expands to the complete
Fax/Modem Setup dialog.
- From the Model list box, select the model of your fax/modem.

Note: The first time you switch modes, you may need to customize the
fax/modem settings.

- Click OK. WinFax is now operating in Standalone Mode. The full set of
@ variables are now available for use.

For more information on switching between Standalone and Network modes, see
your WinFax for Networks Setup Guide.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
