The WYSIWYG and generic EGA and VGA display modes are available
on all 256K EGA and VGA displays. To obtain any of the
additional extended screen displays, the appropriate display card
must be used.

Make sure the dip switches on the display card are correctly set
for a higher resolution mode, and the monitor can handle high
resolution graphics, as various screen display problems may
occur. Usually, some type of software setup or testing program
is included with the display card, and should be run to determine
the possible screen display modes of the card with the monitor.

If your display card is not on this list, check for possible
compatibility with one of the listed cards in the documentation
that came with the display card, or call the video card
manufacturer.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
