Norton Editor Patch (2)
for
The Norton Editor v1.3C
Norton Editor Patch (2) turns off the generation of tiddle
files. Tiddle files are the files that have extensions that
begin with the ' ~ ', tiddle symbol. NEPATCH2 replaces program
instructions in the editor. The replaced instructions are those
used to create the tiddle file when saving a changed file.
To use, ensure you are not patching your only copy of the
Norton Editor. Place NEPATCH2.BAT and NEPATCH2.SCR in any drive.
You must have DEBUG.COM in your path for the patch to work. Type
NEPATCH2 [drive:][path]editor_name.COM. That is, type "NEPATCH2"
followed by the full or partial path name of your Norton Editor.
In my case I renamed NE.COM to EDIT.COM. I keep EDIT.COM in
C:\NE. Therefore, I would use NEPATCH2 C:\NE\EDIT.COM.
NEPATCH2 was created by Christopher L. Courson. The Norton
Editor is a trademark of Peter Norton Computing.
