Norton Editor Patch
for
The Norton Editor v1.3C
Norton Editor Patch bypasses the "Press any key" screen at
startup. Simply put, this patch replaces a call statement in the
program with NOP instructions. It is this call statement that
causes the Norton Editor to pause at startup.
To use, ensure you are not patching your only copy of the
Norton Editor. Place NEPATCH.BAT and NEPATCH.SCR in any drive.
You must have DEBUG.COM in your path for the patch to work. Type
NEPATCH [drive:][path]editor_name.COM. That is, type "NEPATCH"
followed by the full or partial path name of your Norton Editor.
In my case I renamed NE.COM to EDIT.COM. I keep EDIT.COM in
C:\NE. Therefore, I would use NEPATCH C:\NE\EDIT.COM.
NEPATCH was created by Christopher L. Courson. The Norton
Editor is a trademark of Semantec.
