The Ultimate Scanner Database

Welcome to TUNE-IN: The Ultimate Scanner Database.

TUNE IN is a scanner database system developed with the scanner
enthusiest in mind. Designed to complement todays high tech scanners,
TUNE IN provides the user with the easiest way to keep track of the
hundreds of frequencies in their scanner with the most organized,
managable and user friendly interface available to satisfy the most
demanding scanner enthusiest.

TUNE IN has been designed to work the same way as your scanner does.
Most scanners have internally two things associated with each frequency;
a CHANNEL NUMBER and a BANK NUMBER.

These two items help you locate and organize the frequencies stored in
your scanner.

CHANNEL NUMBER: Every frequency in your scanner is assigned to a CHANNEL
NUMBER. This channel number is generally between 1 and 100. Some of the
more advanced scanners allow up to 1000 channels to be stored within the
unit.

BANK NUMBER: In most scanners the user is able to store many channels.
These channels are broken down and stored in seperate BANKS. These
BANKS allow for easier access to the needed frequencies. Banks allow
the user to put specific frequencies in seperate areas to aid in the
scanning of related frequencies. For example, one bank may be programmed
with the police and fire frequencies for one city, and another bank be
programmed with the frequencies of the local airport. Most scanners
have 10 banks in them. These banks may have anywhere from 10 and 100
channels each.

TUNE IN has been designed to perform to the needs of the mega scanners.
It allows for inputing of up to 15 BANKS, with each bank containing up
to 100 CHANNELS.

TUNE IN works just like your scanner does. You assign your frequencies
to a CHANNEL NUMBER. The CHANNEL NUMBER is assigned to a BANK NUMBER.
TUNE IN can handle up to 100 CHANNEL NUMBERS per Bank, and BANK NUMBERS
up to 15. In actuality since each BANK is saved as an individual file,
the actual number of BANKS possible are infinite.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
