SUDSCM is a utility to load all recipes contained in the Internet
Cat's Meow II recipe file into your SUDS database (415 at the
time of this writing!).
To use this utility you MUST have either SUDS or SUDSW (Home
brewer's database, log software). These are available on
CompuServe in the Wine Forum in the General Homebrew section.
Look for SUDS13.TXT or SUDW11.TXT for information on these
programs.
To use SUDSCM you must also have an ASCII copy of the Cat's
Meow II recipe file. This is available in the Beer Recipes
section of the Compuserve Wine forum as CATMEO.ZIP (You'll need
a copy of PKUNZIP to unzip the compressed file).
Assuming you have this file, to load all of its recipes into
your SUDS database, enter the following from whatever directory
you have SUDS installed in:
SUDSCM filename
where filename is the path and filename of the
Cat's Meow file
For example, on my system I would type the following:
C:\SUDS> SUDSCM \beer\catmeo.txt
This will load all recipes into your SUDS database displaying
each as it is loaded.
The utility checks for duplicate recipes by comparing ALL text
lines in the recipe. If updates come out to the Cat's Meow II
(as they occasionally do) you can reload the recipes from the
full file without duplicating existing recipes. This assumes
that the Cat's Meow file has not changed in format (There have
been format changes to it in the past!).
SUDS requires that all recipes have a unique name. The Cat's
Meow II file contains many duplicate recipe names. To get
around this, SUDSCM will add "." to the end of the recipe
name to force it to be unique.
SUDSCM is a free utility available to any and all SUDS users.
Feel free to copy and distribute this file in unmodified form
to other SUDS and SUDSW users.
Happy Brewing!
