THANKS FOR USING PC-LIBRARY

PC-Library is a Georgia State University Computer Center
product for maintaining a collection of online manuals with
various chapters. It's just like a bookshelf of books.
Each book can have several chapters. You may use it as a
reference while online, or you might rather print a copy of the
chapter you need. Also, the PC-Library (PCL) can be used as a
training aid because it can ask questions and correct answers.

Obviously, you have learned how to select books and chapters
by this point. Press the 'PgDn' key to advance to the next
page.
|

You will always have a summary of PCL commands currently
active across the bottom of the screen. Use 'PgDn' and 'PgUp'
to move forward and backward in the chapter. 'Home' and 'End'
keys take you to the beginning and end of the chapter.

At almost any time, you may press 'ESC' to quit. The number
of times you will need to press 'ESC' depends on where you are
in the book.
|

The 'F' key will allow you to search for a word in the text.
It will only look for one word at a time. If it finds the
word, it will be high-lighted on the page. 'R' is the repeat
find command. If you press 'R', PCL will search for the next
occurrence of the search word.
|

The 'P' stands for printing. Press 'P' and the print menu
will scroll up from the bottom. You may then select from the
three print options or press 'P' or 'ESC' to cancel the print
menu.
|

At times you may see an 'A'. It means that there is a
question on the screen for you to answer. When you are ready
to answer the question, press 'A' and PCL will prompt you to
enter your response. Press 'RETURN' and the answer will be
evaluated. You can only answer a question once so do not make
typographical errors. (Your answers can be in upper, lower or
mixed case.)

The 'G' command does not appear on the status line, but it can
be used after answering a question to check your grade. Your
grade is computed using the total number of questions, so
relax if your grade looks puny before the end of the
questions.
|

Again, thanks for using PC-Library.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
