Note: the term "vendor" can mean any or all of the following:
- For-profit public domain & shareware vendors (ASP or non-ASP)
- For-profit or not-for-profit user groups or computer clubs
- Sysops (see SYSOP.DOC)
1. Vendors: you may distribute FAC without contacting me for
permission ONLY if you observe the following:
a) distribute a complete, unmodified package (see PACKING.LST)
b) you can't charge for FAC itself. You may charge for
distribution costs, i.e., the cost of the diskette, shipping and
handling, as long as the total (per disk) does not exceed US$8.00 in
the U.S. and Canada, or US$12.00 internationally.
c) make it clear to whoever receives a copy of FAC that it is NOT
"free software" and that each disk or copy is ONLY for evaluation.
d) make it clear that whoever receives a copy of FAC that they do
not become a registered user until Michael K. Molloy has received
payment for registration of the software.
e) you may not distribute the manual (FAC.DOC) in printed form.
f) FAC cannot be "rented" or "leased" to others.
2. Here's a long description of FAC:
Find Area Code (FAC) is a TSR-capable MSDOS utility which
can quickly locate U.S. and international telephone area
codes. FAC performs its search using any part of an area
code, city, state, or country and shows matches almost
instantly. FAC also has a very powerful "fuzzy search" mode
which allows you to use sound-alike spellings. FAC uses a
data file which you can modify in any way. FAC can run from
the MSDOS command line or you can make it go memory resident
(TSR). FAC can operate in as little as 7K of RAM using
expanded (EMS) memory or disk for swapping.
3. Here's a short description:
Find Area Code 1.65; 7K TSR, Fuzzy searches; 2000 US & Int'l Cities
4. Suggested keywords: FAC TSR FIND AREA CODE TELEPHONE ASP PHONE SEARCH
5. Category: Telephone, Desktop, TSR, Productivity Tools

Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!
This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.
But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
