EXECdb, Maximum OverKill in EXEC-PC File List Management!
---------------------------------------------------------
The EXDBRBF.ZIP file contains the database files for EXECdb.
These files are placed in a separate ZIP file to keep from
over-writting an existing database. If you are currently using
EXECdb, DELETE THE EXISTING EXDB.MSG/OVL/EXE files and use the
files in this ZIP file. If you are just starting with EXECdb,
you need to PKUNZIP the entire set of files.

Please READ the documentation for EXECdb BEFORE you start to use
the program. Although the program is, I hope, intuitive in its
use, there are several very important things you need to know
about its use. This program is a true relational database and
has some very powerful functions. These functions can also be
used to erase the records in the database tables and you will
have to reload them from scratch, although that should be easy
enough.

The quickest way to load file information into the database is
to download the files XFERM.ZIP and XFER1.ZIP through XFER4.ZIP
from EXEC-PC. This will give you an immediate history and these
files are in the correct format to load directly into the
database. Don't worry about having different years in the wrong
table. You can use the Table_Stats function to find which table
has records that are in the wrong table and the Move function to
straighten out the table records after loading the above lists.

If you encounter any problems, or 'anomalies', in the program,
PLEASE leave me a message on EXEC-PC or call or write to me at
the address in the documentation. If there are any functions you
would like to see in the program, let me know. This program is
meant to do whatever needs to be done in managing EXEC-PC file
lists. I will gladly add any features that are feasible or try
to improve those that need it.

For those that are already familiar with data base commands,
read the Getting Down to Serious Business section. It explains
how to enter your search commands for the maximum and fastest
searches of the file lists.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
