VorComp was developed to compare directories, groups of
files, and individual files. Many options are available to
control the type of comparisons performed, the display, and the
generated ErrorLevel. The options allow comparison on hidden
files, directory attributes, labels, and subdirectory trees.
The VorComp compare utility is used in any of the following
ways:
Information: VORCOMP
File Compare: VORCOMP file1 file2
VORCOMP file path
Group Compare: VORCOMP group1 group2
A group may be either an entire directory
or a file description with ? and * wildcards.
This program may be used very effectively with no more than
the above. However, see the documentation for the use of special
options.
This is not a free program. After a trial period, users are
required to register and to pay a license fee of $8.
In the event of an unforeseen circumstance, such as monetary
inflation, the above license fee may be increased without notice.
Future versions may also cost more. In the event of such an
increase, or if some version of a product is no longer available,
any money will be promptly refunded with an explanation.
Registered users will receive a floppy disk with the
official version of the software, a 24-page booklet-style
reference manual, technical support, new-product notices, and
low-cost upgrades.
Registered users will also receive a configuration program
which will create custom versions of VorComp 1.1 with different
default values for the options. The configuration program is not
shareware, and its use will be restricted to those who register.
Technical support will be extended for at least three months
from the date of registration. At least 30 minutes of telephone
support will be provided at no charge to registered users. In
general, the customer is expected to be responsible for placing
any long-distance calls. Occasionally we may not be available,
and telephone calls will be taken by an answering machine. We
want this product to be a success and will attempt to satisfy our
customers.
Copying and distribution of this program for a free trial by
others is permitted and encouraged, provided that all files are
included, complete and unchanged.
Commercial sellers of floppy disks or other media containing
shareware are required to receive a special license from us for
this purpose. This requirement is not intended to prevent such
activity, nor to impose a fee, but merely to allow us to monitor
these sales, to help ensure that the latest version of our
software is being distributed, and to limit the amount customers
are charged for such media.
