FREEWARE AUTO-MENU PROGRAM
version 1.1

This menu program is designed for those who need a small
quick menu system for running various programs under a
DOS environment. OMENU offers password protection, color
configuration, and screen blanking after 5 minutes of
keyboard inactivity. The CFG and DAT files contain sample
information and OMSETUP should be run to custom configure
the OMENU program. Carefully review the current settings
in the configuration so that you will understand how to
set the configuration file for your own purposes.

I suggest creating a sub directory and naming it "OMENU".
Then copy all of the OMENU files into that directory and
run OMSETUP to configure colors and setup menu functions.

When running OMSETUP and setting up the menu functions,
you'll see the settings for each option. When running it
for the first time, you will see several sample options
some of which are common to a number of computers. One of
the reasons that this menu program is FREE is that this is all
you get in the way of instructions. There are a few special
notes however. When entering long path names in the setup
program, they will be accepted as they are entered but will
only display as many characters as can fit up to the filename.
Also when entering path names, do not preceed them with the
"\" character as this will be added automatically. The
exception to this rule is in the CONFIGURATION (First part
of the SETUP program) when you have to enter the directory
name where OMENU is stored. It is then, that you need to
include the "\" character at the beginning of the directory
name but omit the drive designation, ie; "\OMENU not C:\OMENU".
Password can not be longer than 10 characters, and
the activation KEY can not be a lower case letter. Also,
when in the EDIT mode using OMSETUP, be sure to type changes
completely even if the letters already appear (If you don't,
you'll see why).

Once you have created or edited this file, you're ready to
run OMENU. You may call it from your AUTOEXEC.BAT file and have
it run automatically when your computer boots up.

** Special Note **
Do not use the letter "Q" for any entries as the first element
because OMENU automatically places that selection on the MENU
allowing the user to enter "Q" to Quit to DOS.

Feel free to distribute this program so long as no fee is charged
and all files are distributed in their entirity and free of
alteration.

Future versions will use an easier setup program.
