CHAPTER I
Product Information
Menu Master is the complete hard drive menu system. You will find
this system is easy to setup and provides all the features you
need for your personal or business PC system.
Features: Easy installation and maintenance
Supports all monitor types
Full 64 color palette for EGA & VGA
26 Options per Menu and 2 Sub Menu's per option
Provides support for over 17,000 menu options
Password protection for all menu options (optional)
Supports Novell Shell for LAN Users
Screen Saver ( User defined Time out parameter )
No memory overhead when in your applications
Menu Master : Shareware and Registration
Menu Master is marketed under the shareware concept. This
means you should register your copy if you find Menu Master
to be of value to you. You may distribute unregistered copies
as long as they have not been modifed in any way. You may not
charge any fee for distribution, except those costs to cover
copying and handling. This fee can not exceed $6.00.
Any distribution for profit is forbidden.
Registration Information:
1. Registered users will receive the latest release of
Menu Master.
2. You can call for technical support, or call to make
suggestions for new features you would like to see in
future releases.
3. A registration form is included for you convenience.
The registration fee is $20.00 for a single user installation.
A Site license is available for $200.00.

Installation
Before starting your install verify that you have all the
files:
- MM.EXE The main menu program
- MMHOLD.EXE Program to pause screen
- MMS.BAT Batch file for starting Menu Master
- MMSEL.BAT Created by MM.exe to invoke Application you select
- MM.INI Contains information for sub menus
- MM.PIF Base Menu file
- MM.COL Contains Colors selected for your menu
- MM1B.PIF Used for Sample Sub Menu
- MM.PAL Contains Color Palette
- MM.HLP Help Screen
- MM.DOC Program Documentation

Installation
Installing Menu Master:
1. Create a subdirectory for Menu Master
Example : At the C: prompt
TYPE: MD MM
2. Copy the Menu Master Programs to your new menu directory
A. Change to your new menu directory
TYPE: CD\MM
B. Copy the Menu Master files to directory
TYPE: Copy A:*.*
C. Verify all files have been copied
TYPE: DIR
3. Starting Menu Master
TYPE: MMS
4. The first time you run Menu Master the program will
automatically take you to the Configuration setup screen.
The Configuration screen requires the following information:
A. Specify where your Command.COM is located. ( ie. c:\ )
** This is VERY IMPORTANT, Menu Master will abend if you
specify wrong directory **.
B. Specify the Master Password you plan to use. This
password will be used each time you start up the menu
system. This password will also be used when the screen
saver option is invoked.
NOTE: The master Password will allow access to all menu
options even if you choose a different password
for a specific application. For example if you
set up option A on the Main Menu as 'Word Processing'
and you select a special password just for this
option, the Master Password will also allow access
to this menu option.
C. Specify Screen Blanking timeout, Just type the number of
minutes for how often you would like screen blanking to
be invoked.
Menu Master is now ready for you to begin customizing the menu
options with your own applications. See Chapter III for instructions
on setting up the menu options.

Menu Modification
As you begin you will notice that Option A and B have already
been modifed. These Options are just examples and can be changed
to whatever Application you prefer.
EXAMPLES:
Option A is a DOS exit and should be functional now. You can try
invoking this option now if you like. Make sure you have specifed
correct directory for Command.Com.
Use F3 key to modify the configuration file if necessary.
When Option A is invoked you will shell to DOS
To return to the menu type: EXIT.
Option B has been setup to show you how the Sub Menus work.
Try invoking Option B. This is an example of what the sub
menus look like.
To Return to the primary menu press the ESC key.
Menu Modification
1. Select the Option to modify with the highlighted bar.
2. Press the Menu Modifer Key ( F6 = MuMod )
3. When the Modify Menu displays, Modify any of the options displayed:
A. Name: Description of program to be displayed on Menu.
Password Protection option available
B. Prog: Program Name ( .com, .exe, .bat or * for Submenu)
C. Dir : Directory path where program is found
D. Path: Path name if a separate search path is needed
E. Parm: Any command line parameters
This option allows for a Fixed or Run Time Parameter
Fixed parameters will execute automatically
Run Time allows you to select the parameter at run time
F. Hold: Y/N option to Pause Screen after execution
G. Dshl: Y/N option for TSR applications
4. Press X to save your modifications.
For SUB MENUS place the highlighted Bar on the Option you have
specifed for having a submenu and press the Enter Key. Follow
the same process for setting up single level menus ( shown above ).

Color Modification
Menu Master supports up 64 color choices for EGA and VGA systems.
CGA systems can select up to 8 colors ( in Text mode ).
Color modification using 8 colors
1. Press the Color function key (F4=Color)
2. Modify the Foreground and Background colors for each area of menu.
3. If you like the color layout you have selected, Press the Color
Save Key (F5=CSave)
For EGA and VGA systems: ( EXTENDED COLOR PALETTE )
1. Press the F7 function key
2. Select the color slot you wish to modify, 0 thru 15
3. Select a color number from 0 to 63
Refer to your Basic Manual for colors ( PALETTE )
4. Press the Color Save Key (F5=CSave)

Function Keys
F1 - Help Online help available for CGA, EGA and VGA Monitors
This option is not available for systems with a
monochrome monitor.
F2 - Quit Quits Menu Master
F3 - Confg Configuration setup, includes:
Command.Com Directory
Master Password option
Screen Saver option
F4 - Color Defines color selections for Menu Master
F5 - CSave Saves color selections made using F4 and F7
F6 - MUmod Menu modification, add, delete entries on menu
F7 - EGA Extended Color Palette for EGA and VGA monitors
Support for 64 colors.
This option is not available for CGA and Monochrome
and will display as N/A on menu.
F8 - REGA Resets extended color palette EGA and VGA monitors.
Some TSR applications will reset the color pallette to the
default setting. When you return to Menu Master, the colors
you selected will not be displayed. Use this option to reset
the extended palette with the colors you selected.
F9 - N/A For future use.
F10 - QDOS Quick Dos. Use this function from anywhere in menu to
exit to DOS. This function can be used for any DOS function
such as a Dir, Copy or Type. This option should not be used
for executing programs directly from DOS.
** Note This function will not work if your PC has 256k
or less **
OTHER FUNCTION KEYS TO MOVE YOU AROUND IN THE MENU:
CURSOR UP - Moves Highlighted selection bar up
Bar will scroll if key is pressed continuously
CURSOR DOWN - Moves Highlighted selection bar down
Bar will scroll if key is pressed continuously
PAGE UP - Moves Highlighted selection bar up one page
PAGE DOWN - Moves Highlighted selection bar down one page
HOME - Moves Highlighted selection bar to top of menu
END - Moves Highlighted selection bar to bottom of menu
ALPHA KEYS - Moves Highlighted selection bar to selected option.

This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.
