Welcome to the KOPY program, the Date Copier. This small documentation of
the program is designed to help you use KOPY.
KOPY is a program that helps a programmer, a user, and even a heavy user
keeping backup copies of his/her work. It is designed to work like its
homonym COPY but it is different in that it will compare the date of both
source and destination (if any) files and copy the latest one onto the
earliest one.
KOPY accepts wildcards such as '*' and '?' and all valid drives and
subdirectories. KOPY cuts the mis-spelling of its name by requiring the use
of 'TO' between the source and the destination paths. As an example, copying
all *.DOC files from A:\MYDIR\ to B:\BACKUP\ would look like:
KOPY A:\MYDIR\*.DOC TO B:\BACKUP\
The new KOPY allows one to copy the files to a non-existant subdirectory and
KOPY will create one. The new KOPY also features enhanced error checking and
reporting that somehow lacked in earlier versions.
