Ever wonder what's been missing from those parties you've had lately ?
Or why you couldn't sleep late at night ?


THE TRIPLE DIRECTORY (part of the LION Utilities)



Toying with the latest double-directory listers, and ones that appear
to have a triple directory, yet only support two directories (one split up
into different sections), I decided to invent a true, full-power tri-dir
viewer.

Obviously, such a program should have the usual necessities:


1) Color customization

2) Separate scrolling abilities, so you can scroll down one side, while
scrolling up another.

3) Sorting capabilities, including by EXTENSION, NAME, or SIZE.

4) Ability to save favorite colors, so user must not enter all the colors
every time the program is begun.

5) Multiple drive capabilities.


AND SOME EXTRAS !


6) Allow each file extension to have its own unique color.

7) An easy setup menu, that allows you to change one option without
having to run through the entire setup routine.

8) Rapid drive changing, without scanning entire drive before
performing change.

Usage: KAT3DIR


The keys used are extremely simple !They are designed like so that you
don't have to remember a long set of keys.
You just put your hand on the keyboard, and move your first three fingers
around.

TO OPEN UP NEW DIRECTORIES FOR A WINDOW:


F1 Opens directory for window #1.


F2 Opens directory for window #2.


F3 Opens directory for window #3.







At the "Enter New Directory: " prompt, just type in which dir you want to
view (Eg: \MENU, \BACKUP, \TURBO\BIN ...).

NOTE: Make sure you include the backslash "\" before the directory !





Anytime during the program, to change drives, just type in that letter of
that drive.
Eg: Pressing the "A" moves us to drive A:, pressing "B" moves to B:, etc.




To alter the sorting of any window, press F4.
You are prompted for which window to sort, then
what standard to sort by (EXT, NAME, SIZE).


NOTE: Sorting by extension takes longer than the other two choices.
Please be patient, and don't fill up the keyboard buffer while
waiting for an extension sort !



To alter the colors, press F4, and you are run
through the "Setup" routine.



NOTE: Hidden/system files have a "" before them.

Read-Only files have a "" before them.

These special files are NOT sorted normally, and will be on top of
the list (to highlight their existence).

Press Letter/Num or [ESC] exit+save:



At the above prompt, make SURE that 'Numlock' is off, and press the letter
or number to the left of the your choice. Here is an explanation of the
above choices:

So pressing "a" will bring a prompt--> "Color: ". You then look to the
top of the screen at the colors. If you want all files with the .DOC
extension to be RED, you would enter "4". The screen then updates itself,
and instead of:

[a].DOC 15

we have [a].DOC 4


The remainder of the extensions are obvious: .CFG, .OBJ, .TMP, .LOG
..etc.Once you are finished and satisfied with your color choices,
press ESC to exit and save your configuration file.


NOTE: Your color configurations are saved in the root directory in a
file called TRIDIR.CFG. Also, if the directory you specify does not
exist, the program beeps, and the prompt is removed.

THE Lion Utils







This program is part of the LION UTILITIES, available from
CAT Systems of Texas. There are 35 programs built into
unique file and directory managing system, all of which
are designed for the user in mind.

All the usual needs are covered (file-finding, dir & file
compression, moving, copying, and MANYunusual items)





THE LION UTILITIES


1. SOUND3.EXE
A Sound System including bird-chirping, phasors, lightning,
motorcycles, star-wars effects. Included are over 21 unique
sounds + a music creater that allows mixing of notes and
melodies.

2. KATKOPI.EXE
An enhanced copy utility that eliminates the need to type in
a full pathname.

3. BINAR.EXE
Enables you to pull text from binary files, with options for
capitals, lower-case, digits, punctuation, or search for any
specific word.

4. KAT'S MOVE
A very fast file mover with extra capabilities.

5. KATT.EXE
Alter attributes of any file (hidden,system,archive,rd-only),
find files containing certain attributes, or see the current
attr. of any file.

6. KITTY.EXE
An enhanced directory - controller that allows hiding dirs,
renaming, deleting, erasing dir trees, merging, showing size
or contents of dir .. over 13 options in ALL.

7. LION.EXE
A full-featured hunting utility. Hunt a file, then change
attribute, erase, erase with prompt, rename .. Any function
you can perform on a file, you can do with THIS.

8. INSPECT.EXE
Checks a file for characters, shows what type of file it is,
allows viewing of the header, and MUCH MORE.

9. JOKES.EXE
Ten practical jokes to play on friends with PC's.Includes
random file generations, screen-lockup, loud and obnoxious
noises, or fake prompts.

10. CAT-VIEW (KV.EXE)
View two files at once. Scroll through a text file on bottom,
while seeing another on top. Files are separated, and you can
scan through one backward while viewing the other forward.
Very useful for text-file comparison.

11. COMPRESSION-BACKUP (BACKARAK.EXE)
A backup system that uses any compression you'd like to backup
your directories.If file is too large for a diskette, split
it up .. then merge it again. Restores from previous backup,
formats diskette, and prompts for new disk once old one is full.

13. Erased File LISTER.
Shows erased files on diskettes.

14. CAT DIRECTORY
The ultimate in directory functions. From the command line, you can
see hidden,system files, sort by any part of the file.. show extended
information about diskette, format output in over 10 different
methods... and MUCH MORE !
