I'm going to upload FINDPAT.ARC as soon as I finish this message. I
hadn't seen the type of tool you mentioned either, so I wrote a quick
one in C. The source is included, although I didn't get too fancy. Let
me know if this does what you need, or if I can be of more help. Hope
this helps. The command format is "findpat directory pattern" for
instance "findpat c: temp" will scan all directories on c: for any
filenames that contain the string "temp".

[EK: FINDPAT.EXE WILL LOCATE ALL FILES ON A HARD DISK WHOSE NAME
CONTAINS A STRING AT ANY PLACE IN THE NAME.

THUS, IF THE USER ASKS FINDPAT TO FIND ALL FILES THAT HAVE
THE PATTERN "VGA" IN THEIR NAMES, FINDPAT WILL RESPOND WITH
"VGA.DOC", "NEW-VGA.DOC", "DOC.VGA", "--VGA2.EXE", ETC.

NOTE, THIS PROGRAM IS MUCH MORE FLEXIBLE THAN, SAY, NORTON
UTILITIES' "FF" (FIND FILE) PROGRAM. WITH FF, YOU CAN ONLY
SEARCH FOR "VGA*.*", "??VGA.*" OR "*.VGA". FINDPAT, ON THE
OTHER HAND, WILL LOCATE ALL OF THE ABOVE FILES WITH ONE SEARCH,
AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO KNOW WHERE IN THE TITLE THE TEXT WILL
BE!!]
