Thank you for acquiring a copy of Easy Access. To get a copy of
the users manual type 'PRINT EASY.MAN'. This will print the users
manual on your printer.

What follows is simple installation instructions. More detailed
instructions can be found in the users manual.

Installation Instructions

Note : If you are upgrading from a previous version of the menu system
please read the notes regarding changes effective with this release
BEFORE continuing with installation.

Step 1: Create a sub-directory for the menu programs & files
Ex: MD C:\MENUS

Step 2: Copy the menu programs into the directory
Ex: COPY A:*.* C:\MENUS

Step 3: Change your working directory to the directory you copied the
menu programs too
Ex: CD \MENUS

Step 4: Run MS.EXE
Ex: MS

Step 5: The program will display the TengWare logo & ask you to hit
the Enter key or F10 key, take your pick.

The program now will tell you the cofiguration file was not
found, do you wish to define it, answer 'Y'. The computer
will now ask for several things regarding how you want it to
work. Remember F1 = HELP at all inputs. The configuration
can be changed at any time so you are not stuck with the set-
up you are creating now.

Step 6: If you answered 'Y' to User Log On the computer will now ask
for your sign on, otherwise proceed to step 7.

The first time you sign on the Sign On is '*' and the Password
is 'tengware'. I suggest you add yourself into the user file
as soon as possible, F8 from the menu, because the '*' sign on
does not behave the same as other sign on's.

Step 7: The computer will now ask you to set up the main menu, even if
you are not yet ready to set it up answer 'Y'.

Enter the appropriate data for the main menu, then hit the F10
key. The main menu is now displayed on your screen. Now hit
the F10 key again. You are now back to DOS. From now on to
access the menu system DO NOT enter MS, instead enter MENU.

****************** From This Point On Run MENU not MS **********************

The menu system is now functional

To set up Sub-Menus:

Sub-Menus are defined by entering 'M' for Disk in menu maintenance.
The path input will be skipped & the computer will ask for program
name. This is not actualy a program name but the file name of the
menu you will be runing. If the menu file was not previously set
up the first time you try to run it it will ask you to set it up.

If you set up you autoexec.bat file with PATH C:\MENUS you will
be able to access the menu system at any time regardless of what
directory you are in by typing 'MENU'.

An example autoexec.bat file: echo off
path c:\DOS; C:\MENU
cd \MENU
MSRESET
MENU

or if you do not wish to include the MENU directory in your
path command, copying MENU.BAT into your DOS directory will
provide the same results.

If you have User Log On enabled:

MSRESET.EXE will force the menu system to require a log on before
allowing the user access to any programs. This is helpful for
those users that just shut off the computer without logging off.

The menu system will allways require a log on if the system date
changes or the previous user logged off.

If occasionally the computer says it can't find a file or you are
getting IO errors for no apparent reason you probably need to
increase the number of files / buffers in CONFIG.SYS

Example CONFIG.SYS file: files = 32
buffers= 32

The CONFIG.SYS file MUST be in the root directory of the drive
you boot from.

REMEMBER F1 = Help at all user inputs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
