OS/2 2.0 Fix
(as supplied by Bernie Thompson, IBM Boca)
Applies to OS/2 2.0 CSD level 02000 ONLY (the initial retail release).
In this package is a replacement VSVGA.SYS file. This file is located in
\OS2\MDOS. RENAME the previous VSVGA.SYS file to VSVGA.BAK, and copy this
new VSVGA.SYS file in its place.
While this replacement VSVGA.SYS file will work on any system, it is
specifically designed to fix a problem involving SuperVGA adapters
with the Tseng Labs ET4000 (batch number TC6059AF or higher) chipset.
On these adapters entering a full screen DOS or Win-OS/2 session will
cause the display to lose sync. This replacement VSVGA.SYS file remedies
that problem.
Dale Whitfield at IBM Boca, in working with Tseng Labs, came up with this
fix. The fixed VSVGA.SYS file is 64472 bytes in length.
