BULLETIN BOARD README FILE
This Bulletin Board Program is a modification to the bulletin.prg that
was posted to the Nantucket Forum. I have revised it to work on our
Novell Network. The program will search the current directory for
files with a "txt" suffix. The *.txt files are ordered by Date (most
recent on top), this is so the End-Users can find the latest bulletin
first.
The application is compiled using Clipper 5.01. No particular switches
are used. Although very simple, this program is very important to us.
I hope other Network Administrators can use this system as well. The
Application is in the public domain, so you use it at your own risk.
How we set it up:
SYS4:\SUB-DIRECTORY\APPLICATION\BULLETINS.EXE FLAG "SRO"
SYS5:\SUB-DIRECTORY\BULLETIN\*.TXT Files FLAG "SRO"
Every week the System Administrator creates a new bulletin and copies
it to the SYS5:\SUB-DIRECTORY\BULLETIN\*.txt Sub-Directory.
PLEASE NOTE: Your bulletin files must have a "txt" suffix.
If you want a bulletin board system that can be written to as well as
read, check out the Nantucket Forum (NANFORUM). File BULL2.ARC.
