Haunted House Sounds Librarian V.2.0
for the CMS Sound Blaster
by Larry Tipton 10/06/91

Haunted House Sounds Librarian functions to allow you to incorporate your own
sound effects into Haunted House Sounds (HHS).

Just copy HAUNTLIB.EXE to the directory where you have the effects that you
want to use in HHS. HAUNTLIB requires you give it a LIB and a LOOP file name.
The default LIB included with HHS uses THUNDER as its LOOP file.

HAUNTLIB expects to find 40 files with the extention of VOC. If it can't,
the program will fail. If it finds less than 40 files then some will be
used again. Please make sure that you are using full 8 bit VOC files...Not
commpressed or looped files.

Each VOC file that you use to create your own LIB is limited in size to 64K.
The total for the 40 files must not exceed 500K. Less if memory is low.
Example: If you create a LIB that is 450K you'll need at least 527K free
DOS memory.

HHS requires that the LIB file be called HAUNTED.LIB.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
