PROFS:

THis archive contains several exec's that may be usefull to users of
IBM's PROFS product. THey of little use to a non profs user except for
REXX examples. See comments in the individual EXEC's for usage information.

After extraction files must be uploaded to VM using whatever PC to mainframe
Facility is available at your site.


An example IBM SEND command would be:

SEND phonemsg.xed phonemsg xedit a (ascii crlf

Note the use of the parameter ASCII to insure that the text file is properly
translated from ASCII to EBCDIC.




NOTES:

We use PROFS Version 2.2. all REXX exec's have been tested are in use under
that release of PROFS.

This facility has been tested under VM/CMS Release 5.0 but should be usable on
any CMS system supporting REXX (VM/CMS Release 3.0 and above).

One of the idosyncricies of the IBM VM upload/download via Send and Recieve is
the translation of the Rexx 'orr' symbol (the solid horizontal bar) to a `[`
character. Insure that your upload facility properly translates it back or make
the modification manually via XEDIT once uploaded.
